If they keep the same group of players/coaches together and fix the discipline issues they have to be among the favourites.

It would be nice to have another once in a blue moon northern hemisphere winner.

If we see France claim a 6 Nations title and a solid victory over South Africa or New Zealand before the next world cup it's time to start considering them.
Galthie's fairly notoriously difficult to get along with, so there's plenty of time yet for the promising green shots to be buried under classic player/coach in-fighting.
Also, Lord Bald has consistently shown he knows fuck all about contemporary rugby. If he says France will take the crown then I'm tempted to put a bet on them going no further than the quarters.

If they can keep this going they should become the best NH team in the next few years. For now they can't even beat Scotland at Murrayfield, which is hardly the boss level of international rugby challenges.
They are also far too dependent on Dupont at 9 - if he gets injured, who do they have as a back up? Ntamack will grow into a good 10, but the French play off 9 and Dupont is the only petit general they currently have.
And they are second seeds for the WC draw. If they get Wales from the top 4, it should be plain sailing to top their group and reach the semis. Any of the other 3, and they might have to negotiate a far harder path.

Can a French rugby side be relied upon to play 3 good knockout games in a row and a final push?
Hmmmm.....not sure.

Pivac out.
Welsh do seem to raise their game a bit come WC's
French also need to sort out the front row.

I'm as excited as anyone by the French resurgance, but lets see them play the SH big 3 first before we guage where they really are.
Also Lord Smug saying they'll win means it's almost a dead cert that they wont.

If, and it's a big if, the near certainty of Scotland winning the next RWC somehow gets derailed by fair means or foul, I'd love to see France win it.
Shaun Edwards has three years to make them very difficult to beat, and that won't impact on their ability to attack

Not a crazy call. A lot can happen in before 2023, but I'd be very surprised if France are not finalists.

Away with ye. You're in fantasy land if you think it's being derailed.

France vs South Africa? Not a bad match up, South vs North.

You think SA can finally make back to back finals?
As for France, untested in Int rugby in recent years/quality junior programme, but that’s enough to be surprised if they didn’t make the final? Big call.

As the country with the best record in RWC's, I'm sure we can, our chances have got to be up there if we manage to keep Rassie.
