Would you at least play the Blackcaps in T20? That’s the one format you are ranked higher.

Yes, we play well when we have fast and aggressive bowlers trying to dominate. Rabada seems rejuvenated and Nortje will have batsmen on their toes the whole time.

Newlands pitch has been pretty flat for the last 3 years.

Perhaps with almost no cricket (although mostly during winter), the groundstaff had more time to prepare the pitch.

Olly Stone and Mark Wood will be. Just as quick - if they can stay fit for more than 5 minutes. But our ODI side will be weakened without Archer/Buttler and Stokes - should give you a decent chance.

We are playing at home, but yeah, with a full strength team, England should have been too good for us.

I suspect that they will just get Archer to bowl more beamers at nortje.

Archer is only playing the T20's, chances of him bowling to Nortje are slim.

Proteas player tests positive for Covid-19 ahead of England Series
CAPE TOWN - The Proteas have been hit with a positive Covid-19 case ahead of their upcoming series against England.
This meant three players, after a further two were in close contact with the positive player, were absent from the Proteas squad that checked into their bio-secure Vineyard Hotel on Wednesday.
All three were placed in immediate isolation after assessment by the CSA medical team. All the players are asymptomatic but will be monitored closely over the coming days.
No replacements will be brought into the 24-man squad for the three-match T20I and three-match ODI series. Two players will, however, be drafted in to form part of the warm-up matches.
Meanwhile, the entire England squad that arrived in Cape Town on Tuesday, and who are also staying at the Vineyard Hotel along with the Proteas, have all tested negative.
The first T20I is set for Newlands on November 27. It will be the first international series played in South Africa since March due to the Covid-19 lockdown regulations.

We need our star players to be on form, from the bowling that means Rabada and Nortje must hit the ground running and batting De Kock and Du Plessis to make runs from the get go. Hendricks, Van Der Dussen and Bavuma have been in the side long enough to start making 100's. We need our change bowlers in Pretorius and Phehlukwayo to at least keep the run rate down and Maharaj to play and actually take wickets, not be in the team only to say we have a spinner.

Eh?
"Bavuma have been in the side long enough to start making 100s"
Bavuma already has a top score of 113 in six innings, with an average of 55.8. I'm not sure that there is much he can do to earn your approval.

Definitely a player that should be in the team, but let's remember that the 100 was against Ireland. He is new to the ODI side, but has 40 tests under his belt, so I regard him as one of the senior players and I hope he performs as one.
Also, a great fielder.
Do we have a likely starting 11 in mind?

T20s
SA bowling attack and Eng bowling probably on par with each other,
but SA top and middle order, barring de Kock, aren't anywhere near the Eng top 6 in terms of , form and choices. I can't see Eng not being able to chase anything we set and I think we'll struggle to get near any decent scores set. Bowling attack will have to save the day.
edit: Where's Chris Morris?

My head and common sense is saying that England should walk both the ODI and T20 series and they probably will, but remember what Arg did just a few days ago against nz. If we do go down, we must go down fighting.

I'm a massive fan of Dale Steyn, but I think that his playing days for the Proteas are over. Had a poor IPL.
I hope he cashes in at the end of his career, he deserves it.

EFF do this. Still winter, so no chance. Only get dry in January when Paarl hit the 40s.
