Royal Rumble '92 is one of the best definitely check that match out if you like that era in particular

I’m very much one for accepting that everyone has their own interests and especially don’t knock it until you have tried it.

So in the spirit of openness and understanding, what the fuck do you see in wrestling that is worth watching?

You know I don't think I have ever seen the '92 Rumble, that can be next on the list. I have seen the IC title match from Summerslam '92 several times but had never seen the full event which is why I thought I'd start there :)

Any other suggestions are more than welcome, although I do quite fancy reliving the whole of 1997 at some point

I personally don't watch, but for me it now gets filed under very skilled live acting for most of the wrestlers under incredibly demanding circumstances. If you can be patient enough to withstand the more egregious American slapstick moments, viewing through that lens completely changed my perception and enjoyment of it.

Especially compared to boxing - at least wrestling doesn't pretend what it is about. Struggle to watch boxing because of the attempted "drama" element.

the '92 rumble is a great highlight of the talent from the golden era of the 80s, and the introduction of fresh blood from the new era of the 90s. Monsoon and Heenan on Commentary too is just the icing on the cake for my money the best commentary team in the history of WWF/E.

Bret vs Piper at Mania 8 (1992) is easily a top 5 match from Roddys career. Brets fingerprints are all over this match and it's excellent.

Flair vs. Savage is also from the same show, and i don't need to sell it with those two facing off against each other.

1997 is the final bridge from the New Generation Era to the Attitude Era. Arguably 1997 is their best ever year creatively. The Hart Foundation vs USA feud in the summer is a highlight but there's so much more going on to love too. Bret, Austin, Foley, HBK, Taker/Paul Bearer . . . all involved in classic stuff.
