Congratulations Crusaders. Way too good. Still in a different class. The Chiefs were worthy finalists.
RMo peerless, really.
Supe NZ final - Saders v Chiefs - Sat 8am UK - 7pm NZ
Too many fans being nice to the Chiefs but we were done like dinners. Really struggled to break the line so we kicked and kicked poorly.
We had to keep the ball in play because our lineout struggled; scrum was under pressure all night.
When the Sadists rumbled it up we waited for them behind the advantage line and gave them front foot ball all night.
What scares me is that they could only score 2 tries against us (and one from a ball that look a very low bounce). Considering the number of all blacks in that backline, that scares me somewhat.
And Sevu Reece is a dumb idiot and should never be let near black again. Every other ref in the world calls that red and we cannot risk that. (Perhaps Cody Taylor and George Bridge were lucky too.)

Blimey, that’s an harsh emotional criticism.

Though I felt that way too when SBW got that brain dead red in the lions match, and single handedly “lost” the series.
Although, that was an actual red, from a (non tackle) shoulder straight to the head. And he had some form handing out cards for bad shoulders eg World Cup knock out.
So probably the selectors might not jump to the same conclusion of this lesser incident - not wearing black.
I don't get how SBW's brain fart excuses the future ones from Sevu Reece. I think most refs around the world would happily bring out the red card for that sort of challenge.
Reece does it too often for my liking is all. What he did last night is exactly the same as what he did in a shield challenge and cost Taranaki the log against us a few years ago. He hasn't learned

Should the SBW shoulder charges and collision style and the lions Red letting the country down for 12 years, result in him being permanently dropped in your opinion?
If he keeps doing it - yes. (See my edit above)

He wasn't yellow carded in the Shield Game - it was the end of the game and he'd just cost his province the shield.Ymx wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 7:20 am Re Reece
I don’t think he’s had many yellows.
1 Supe Aotearoa
1 Supe
1 NPC
0 for the ABs
That’s it for his whole career!
No reds.

Really enjoyed watching this competition. Great to see games with crowds. The standard of rugby way higher than the South African domestic competition.
Seems to be enormous support for the domestic game. Although supporters of teams other than Crusaders must really be getting the shits by now. How come Canterbury don't dominate the NPC as comprehensively as Super Rugby?

Different competitions — the NPC is semi-professional, and most of the ABs, and hence many Crusaders, don't play in it. Those who are left are are largely split between Canty and Tasman.FalseBayFC wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 7:56 pm Really enjoyed watching this competition. Great to see games with crowds. That said, Canty did win it 9 years out 10 between 2008 and 2017, and since then Tasman has dominated. So if anything, the Crusader-region domination has been even more marked in the NPC.
