I had a few at summerhall before the plague hit and thought they were pretty decent, the Volcano IPA went down particularly well.

A while ago someone mentioned brewdog's elvis juice as having changed, so I picked one up out of interest as i hadn't had one years.

Aye its dropped about 1% or so. About the only one of their beers I really liked.

It's not just that, but that doesn't help. They've cut corners on everything: reduced the hops, are using a terrible synthetic flavouring .

Beavertown did the same thing with bloody ell a while back.

Currently drinking Hop Squad by Fierce Beer. Quite nice, smooth and not too hoppy.

Can't let that happen again!

I had a tin of the Boxcar/Duration collab this week. It's an excellent NEIPA but I prefer westies. There's a North/Duration Westie collab that I will try but on the downside it's 8 quid a tin!.

Another 40 bottles of Augustiner arrived during the week. Should keep me going for a few weeks.

I think I'll pop up to Boxcar next weekend if the weather permits.

Had that collab DIPA yesterday. I though it was excellent. Clean as a whistle with a slight tropical background, not too boozy for an 8% ABV and a really good bitterness Very pleased I bought 4 of them
Going to try the Duration/Verdant collab Saison tonight. If it does what it says on the bottle then that should be good as well!

...............and it delivered. I'm not a huge fan of Saisons but this one "Dropped Limb" in at 7% was nicely dry and tart with excellent depth and just the right amount of Saison "funkiness". I will bve purchasing more

Tried it for the first time yesterday. Both myself and my mate thought we had been served a bad pint. It is incredibly fruity and sour.

Some of the various IPA's that Stewarts produce are fantastic.

And using the age old trick of getting people to work for free through 'interviews' Several people claiming their ideas presented to Brewdog at interview has been used in marketing campaigns.

I know several people in PR/Marketing/Media who said loads of companies do this as standard practice. Get a bit busy? 'Interview' people and hand them copy to edit. Can't afford a marketing agency? Get somebody to present a marketing strategy at interview.

Several reports of Brewdog using the same approach. Hypocrites, all style, no substance. The brewing industry version of The Body Shop.

Gave up drinking a while ago. Only used to do it to stop the Mrs (a stressed out nurse) drinking alone really.

Wasn't doing us any good. Both weren't enjoying it anymore.

Both feel brighter, happier, and have a lot more energy.

They claimed to have hidden 10 solid gold Punk IPA cans in 12-packs of Punk beer., stating that the gold can was worth £15K, and that people would also receive £10k of Brewdog shares & VIP tour of the Brewery.

Turns out the cans are not 'solid gold' but are made of brass and only have gold plating which is just 3 microns thick, and have little or no real monetary value. When they were found out, Brewdog said the valuation was “reasonable based on multiple factors – including the price we paid for its manufacture, the constituent metal and quality of the final product, the standard retail markup and the rarity and uniqueness of the cans.” But went on to admit that it could not guarantee their value on the open market. Brewdog also declined to answer whether it would buy the can back for £15,000 minus costs.

Oh and the shares can't be traded at present as Brewdog isn't a listed company.

Still, at least you get a visit to the Brewery eh.

We are now back at the pub. After yet another disappointing and expensive pint on Wednesday I suggested we start meeting at people's houses again to which the reply was 'thank god you suggested that'

The issue is that people like different beers and different pubs so there's always sombody who doesn't like it wherever you go.

Re guildford, I know. If you remember I was stuck down there for work about 2½years ago.

The pub I'm currently drowning my sorrows in after having my bike knicked has 23 beer lines and does great food, so less of an issue..

Guildford is a massive dump considering how affluent the area is. It's where rich people live, not where they spend their money. There are some nice pubs in the surrounding villages though.
