Lions v Japan match thread
I was idly musing, if you were a Lion, would you rather miss this one for fear of injury? Perhaps that says too much about me.ASMO wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 1:51 pm Beer ready, curtains closed, doorbell disconnected....lets go!!!
True about training but playing in this match increases the risk. Of course you play if you're selected, I was simply wondering what might be a little thought at the back of some players' minds. You might say that if they think like that they shouldn't be there.ASMO wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 1:59 pm Nope, could just as easy get injured training, if selected...play,

VDMs defensive positioning already looking problematic...
I thought he played it perfectly, he used the touchline as a defender and backed his own pace to catch his man, which he ddsockwithaticket wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 2:05 pm VDMs defensive positioning already looking problematic...

Yeah definitely not a healthy looking wrist. Be surprised if he's not gooooonnneee.
Both wings have been narrow. It that instance it was a 5v3 so he had to come in. He isn't the best defender but he did the right thing there.sockwithaticket wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 2:05 pm VDMs defensive positioning already looking problematic...
He defended that massive overlap well there too.
Looks a sore one for AWJ.

Not sure all this attempting to hold up in the maul will be as effective against the Saffas, though it'll certainly work against Japan.
Comment was written about the first couple of times Matsushima made a lot of ground down that wing.Big D wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 2:13 pmBoth wings have been narrow. That's some finish from Adams. Had plenty to do in a tight space.
Yes the 1st time he gained ground was a 5v3 where the 10 thre a miss pass taking out 3 of his own team . Bierne Henshaw and and VdM were numbered up correctly. VdM then cane across and used the touchline as a defender. The second time it was 7 on 3.sockwithaticket wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 2:15 pm Not sure all this attempting to hold up in the maul will be as effective against the Saffas, though it'll certainly work against Japan.

Good finish by Adams there.
He’s had a very good first quarter, very smart player.Big D wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 2:25 pm Biggar reinforcing he is in pole position for the test jersey. Doesn't do a lot wrong and does a fair bit well.
I just wish he’d stop moaning his puss off at the ref.
