Well done Watson, well deserved. Thumbs up to Sinckler, Itoje, Harris, Hogg, Adams, LRZ, George. Russell mostly good, some bad. Farrell pretty poor for 50-odd minutes. Daly was great off the bench, LCD and Davies had some impact too.

Itoje and Watson superb. Price was good. Daly was brilliant when he came in

That's 73 times capped Mako Vunipola, who has a ridiculous engine and some serious skills.

Thought Lawes was really good in 10 minute bursts as well.

Did Watson get MoM then? Missed that

Yeah, he did. Agree on Lawes but didn't want to sound too biased!

So, Watson looked great, And I would say George, Adams, Hogg, Itoje really put their hands up. Others that said they deserve further consideration are Sinckler, Lawes, Price, Russell, Harris, LRZ. Daly’s looked decent at the end too. Hill and Farrell probably moved themselves closer to dirt tracking.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

Odd that you pick him and not Jamie George, who looks like a walking NHS health warning.

With Hill, I think it would be best if the coaches just admit they made a mistake and sent him home.

I didn’t notice really but I had 3 separate mates on various chat groups say that he looked unfit

Depends. Do you like scrums? If so, not particularly. But other than that he's very good, including the six tests he played in on the last two Lions tours...

Well he seems to play prop, so he should be able to scrum a bit.

Good win by the BIL, but that should have been the easiest game of the tour. Hopefully the rest of the games are closer.

Broadly agree with that although might have put Hogg up to a 4.

Not sure how much Rassie & Kie Will be able to take out of this match:
- BI Lions Lineout looks good.
- Scrum looked a bit vulnerable to me
- Some interesting trick plays with inside passes that might work against the Bok defense, or it might just send players into the meat grinder…we’ll see
- skip pass out wide will be a factor

That was a class side...doubt it's even their strongest.
Somehow I don't think its going to be fun.

It's classy players of 4 international sides going up vs provincial sides. We're going to struggle, but it should be better from now on.

Kicking to the wings. Kick through. They have it all.
Going to be a huge test for Willie. Not so confident after watching the Lions get slaughtered.

That was my takeway too. Considering it was a fairly ordinary Gauteng Lions pack, they did well in the scrums. BIL lineout looked good but didn't really get their maul going.

No surprise to see a winger getting 4 tries, that's definitely where they're going to send the ball.

The Walrus’s player ratings are, as ever, somewhat counter-intuitive, as an example Hamish Watson7/10, Owen Farrell 8/10 :

How does he get away with this shit, time and time again. Farrell looked lost. No better than 4/10. He really is turning into a discredited troll.

And Hill was the decisive figure of the match.

I noted he got called a plum in the comments section. Who was it?

Im convinced its a trolling act..he reacts furiously to criticism on social media so is probaly just doubling down in order to annoy people.

He blocked me on Twitter many years ago. He regularly makes the claim that he’s only blocked eleven people or something, and when he does, you see dozens of people saying he’s blocked them. Guy is a complete cock with very little knowledge of the game.
