I'm not normally a fan of Dean Mayer in the Sunday Times because I think that his clues are wilfully obscure & lacking in humour. However he has an absolute gem in today's puzzle:
One struggles to turn "fine fashion" into "bottom" (7,7 ----d-m -----e-)
The answer is fairly obvious but the parsing is genius.
