Probably but he is specialist flanker. It's madness. I can only think that JLDP is injured.

Kolisi can play 6,7,8. van Staden also played 8 for the Bulls some games.

Sards is correct. We're playing the AB's not some second tier nation.

You can't start playing part timers at 8 and even more so when you have two utility forwards in the squad who both play 8. Edit: Also corrected your statement on Oom.

Out of interest... why did Rassie step down as head coach. Was it for health reasons? If so, any chance he may come back?

He is fit and pissed off big time. As is his brother and couple of other players.

He is right. With the bench we have we can replace only one of the loosies properly, and that is kolisi. Marco is only a 6. Duane and kwagga will have to go the full 80min.
Those selections are so dumb it isnt even funny.

wonder if that is what Rassie wants? He seems to like to be hands on...

Is he involved in selection these days? NZ has three selectors (Foster, Plumtree and Fox), do SA just have one selector, the coach?

No one like to lose, but I think most saffers are over reacting. We won the Lions series and before that the RWC. Rassie and Nienaber has not suddenly lost the ability to coach. Every team that miss a lot of first time tackles is going to struggle, that is a fact. Can't blame that on the coach.

I'm happy to see how it goes for the rest of the Rugby Championship.

I do agree that we need to give a few other players a go on the EOYT.

Thr question was, who replace Vermeulen if he get injured? Shift Kolisi/van Staden to 8. They both played there in the past. Its only a back up. Like Willie to wing if Mampimpi or Nkosi went down.

Vok is that to difficult to understand?

Kwagga will go to 8 in that case i guess. Didn't he even start a Test for the boks there, june or july?! Selecting a more versatile loose forward than van Staden, e.g. someone like the du preezs, Coetzee, even Elstadt, would give you some more proper combinations in the backrow in case of an injury.

Kwagga is not an international standard 8's arse also Kwagga is starting. Where does this new shit of starting a player and then moving them elsewhere in the pack as a replacement come from? You should have JLDP on the bench to cover at 4,5,6,7 and very much 8!

Boet, we were trying to figure out a specific case here. Everybody will agree with you, Kwagga shouldnt be anywhere near the squad, nobody gets his continued selection. And yes, JLdP would be perfect to have in the squad right now, especially with a 5-3 split.

Yep. final result 5-0... a suffocating masterclass... and the first international rugby match where the 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 don't touch the ball once, but were still on the winning side...

That or with two opensides SA run the arses off the All Blacks winning by 40-3...

Can't make up my mind...

Apparently this coach has named his teams early before?
