Old news by now but China continue their authoritarian crackdown on some of Hong Kong's last remaining freedoms:

Potential life sentences dispensed in non-jury trials for 'sedition' and 'subversion' , highly likely that the US will revoke HK's special status therefore starving Chinese companies of capital and crushing Hong Kong as a place of business. Pretty galling stuff and yet another cobble on the road to the mew Cold War.

Was it him that was always defending the Chinese regime? Can't recall, but if so he's probably more than okay at the moment.

Amazingly it looks like the UK government may actually not be backing down.

Raab has declared the National Security Law violates the Sino British join declaration.

Now all they need to do is explain to Demonic Raab what the Sino British declaration is and where Hong Kong is on the map.

Sino something. Isn’t that where those drug dealers from Narcos Mexico came from? Sinaloa. First we have the knee thing from Game of Thrones and now this from Narcos. What’s next? Someone from the sopranos?

Kind regards,
The Govt.

I might end up saying something nice about Raab which can't have happened for a while, much work to be done though.

Whilst it's good to see the govt taking a tougher stance re: hong kong, one rather feels that the horse has already bolted

Boris likely agreed the text with the PRC before it was issued.
