Panic buying morons
Bacon and egg in the sandwich toaster is a real treat. You need to cut the bacon into strips and fry it first then when it's nice and crispy arrange it on the bread in the sandwich toaster, then carefully pour over some beaten egg. Pop the other side of buttered bread on top then close the toaster and cook for about 3 minutes. It's an absolute treat. You can add red or brown sauce as preferred of course.

Just bread and butter, for toast, or buttered bread sandwiched with bacon? All three seem fine, though the last seems a little unnecessary to me, but I'm sure there are people out there who butter the bread for a tuna mayo sandwich, so it takes all sorts. It's certainly not the failing in humanity putting bacon between slices of toast isFlockwitt wrote: Wed Oct 06, 2021 3:26 pmAm I allowed butter on my bread?Rhubarb & Custard wrote: Wed Oct 06, 2021 2:51 pmIndeed. Guess this confirms we (and Europe to be fair) are now in Putin's pocket...but let's hope at least this is a good step towards preventing any more energy suppliers going bust
UK gas prices fall from record high after Russia steps in
UK wholesale gas prices hit a record high before falling after Russia said it was boosting supplies to Europe. Russia President Vladimir Putin appeared to calm the market after gas prices had risen by 37% in 24 hours to trade at 400p per therm on Wednesday.
UK gas was 60p per therm at the start of the year, but high global demand and reduced supply has driven prices up.
The high cost of wholesale gas has seen several UK energy firms collapse and halted production across industries.
Following Mr Putin's comments on supplies, gas prices dropped to about 257p a therm later on Wednesday.

Put about 3kgs back on over the summer. Had a cortisone injection in my shoulder last week though so hoping that will stop the pain there at last so I can start weight training again. Also started a 6am circuits class once a week that is full of MILFs, I was the only bloke in there!

My diet has definitely slipped back into some bad habits though. I just like food!
Yes, the bread needs to be softer than the bacon.Rhubarb & Custard wrote: Wed Oct 06, 2021 2:51 pmIndeed. I generally don't rate British breakfasts but it's hard to beat a proper bacon sandwich.

Cameron's chums hoovering up the subsidies on the Agricultural Property Relief farms they own.Sandstorm wrote: Wed Oct 06, 2021 7:27 pm Spent a few days in Cambridgeshire and half the county is covered in solar panels and wind turbines. It’s great. Yet there are none in the SE where I live.
This country’s energy policy is still fucked.
For balance: $11m a day in subsidies to the fossil fuel industry per IMF report.
I walk past a petrol station most days, the pumps have been closed since the panic buying started. They were open on Wednesday with huge queues, honking horns, guys out of their cars, chest to chest, bellowing at each other. An employee was tying to organise the mayhem by shouting through a megaphone…
The pumps were all closed again yesterday

I saw a report stating that part of the issue was because filling stations were running down their stocks for the switch from E5 to E10. Since there was less fuel than normal in filling station tanks they ran out quickly which fuelled the issue.
