He hasn't really... he made himself unavailable for the Rugby Championship in Australia due to his wife giving birth during that tournament.. meanwhile BB has played half decent while Richie was away... and with limited game time, Richie hasn't really had the opportunity or done enough in the two blow outs against the US and Italy, to force the selectors to start him ahead of BB...JM2K6 wrote: Thu Nov 11, 2021 12:35 pm What's the deal with Mo'unga? Excited for Marcus Smith at 10, big game against Australia.
And wouldnt Lawes be better suited at 8, with Curry 6 and underhill 7?!
Lawes is a second row moonlighting as a flanker. No way is he an 8. The two best 8s we have are both on the bench.boere wors wrote: Thu Nov 11, 2021 1:28 pmTuilagi on the wing?? To be honest it’s a new thing.JM2K6 wrote: Thu Nov 11, 2021 12:35 pm What's the deal with Mo'unga? Why's he fallen out of favour? I've not followed Kiwi rugby as much as usual this season.
R Mo spent a bit of time out when he stayed at home having a new child. So missed out on the entire RC.
BB put his hand up a bit. Though people seem to recall just his brilliant moments and forget his brain farts.
Them both being available is a new thing. So I guess BB getting praise for Wales match, and R Mo falling out of favour with the Italy match.
So not sure it’s set in stone, but BB would seem to be favourite on the back of the selection this week.

Just like Scott Barrett and Tuipolutu have given Lord a big leg up.
The success of the young guys at lock might have the selectors eyeing up the teenage Dutch poach as well.
Warm fuzzies over newborns are all very well, but nobody is going to wait around for you to decide you're now available.

Happy with that starting XV. ALB's a better 12 than Havili, and with Ioane at centre and Reece at 11 I hope we're able to shift the ball wide as much as possible. Would esp like to see us attack down James Lowe's wing, as I recall him having some horrible brain farts on defence in Supe rugby.

And to be fair, the All Blacks bench 2010 to 2015 pre-dated the Bomb squad for effectiveness... but you still need a solid platform for your bench to be a difference maker....

Le XV de départ des Bleus :
15. Jaminet ; 14. Penaud, 13. Fickou, 12. Ntamack, 11. Lebel ; 10. Jalibert, 9. Dupont (cap.) ; 7. Macalou, 8. Alldritt, 6. Jelonch; 5. Taofifenua, 4. Woki; 3. Atonio, 2. Marchand, 1. Baille.
Remplaçants :
16. Mauvaka, 17. Gros, 18. Bamba, 19. Flament, 20. Willemse, 21. Cros, 22. Lucu, 23. Danty.
- So Ntamack is becoming France's version of Farrell. His manager is going to find some way to shoehorn him in no matter what.
- I really fail to see the point of Tao who is a limited player with lowish work rate and questionable fitness. Especially given the number of younger locks around.
- Lebel is there because he plays for Toulouse and if that's the selection criteria, Tauzin had to be ahead of him.
- Atonio
- The good news is we get a much better balanced back row and a chance for Macalou who has been a one man team for Paris this season.

- The good news is we get a much better balanced back row and a chance for Macalou who has been a one man team for Paris this season.
I'd love it if that was the case, but the Scots are just so damn clever.Slick wrote: Fri Nov 12, 2021 12:11 pm Have a feeling we are going to take a beating tomorrow, just not sure we can compete for long enough with a few key positions missing the number 1.
Scotland 13 - 27 SA
I think you will have parity in the scrum and then you have a bunch of tricksy lineout moves, Finn Russel doing mad shit to bamboozle the defense, and Hoggs counter attacks...I dunno.
I'm not as confident as I'd like to be going into the match. I'm expecting a win, but I also think the Boks are going to have to work VERY hard for it. The are going to be tested in a lot of areas where they might have become a little complacent.
