You are dealing with something you don't understand. Your superior, white, middle class consciences won't permit you to see or admit it. Very hard to kill an ideology except by "killing" the ideologists. In this case (to steal a line), the ideology can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. So, using phrases such as 'final solution' (something thats been tried before with only some success) to apply to actions taken by the US in WW2, the proposal is to, I think, nuke all countries that harbour a possibility of extreme jihadist ideology. I dont know if you need a particular % of confirmed extremism in a country as Im a little concerned about having to kill everyone in Britain with a cleansing & righteous nuclear fire because theres 3 arseholes in Reading planning to drive a car into a dental clinic or something but then Im a bit on the liberal side and dont understand the need for 'the final solution'

Perhaps we only turn majority muslim countries to dust with the hope that losing everyone across the middle east, much of SE asia and parts of Africa to decades of fallout doesnt, somehow, have a knock on effect on everybody else
Now, Im sure this wont have a radicalising effect on anyone in countries Torq has decided dont require genocide but just in case, and as part of the final solution anyway, maybe we can round them up and put them somewhere we can control them. Dont want to give up too much land or create too many security overheads so the places where we put them should be relatively small, a large number of anyone we've decided is suspicious enough per square meter. Theres a word for that but it escapes me at the moment.

Already pointed out that The Kurtz solution is only theoretical but your bit in red is a little strange. Did you miss a couple of Gulf Wars or Afghanistan where that's precisely what happened i.e. someone decided that killing swathes of innocents was acceptable in pursuit of an anti terrorist policy? And JM is going to jump in and claim that it was precisely this behaviour which has created this situation. But it's not: it has certainly exacerbated it and probably accelerated it. And if that's not what you wanted then either you should have left alone or taken the action to the necessary conclusion.

Again, the situation is now intractable. This threat is not the IRA or the Vietcong. They don't want anything you have to offer and so trying to bargain with a slice of your cake isn't going to work. They want to destroy everything you have so offering any of it is as an appeasement is a non sequitur.

However, your last line is spot on because it's where you'll be stuck for the foreseeable future i.e. having to put up with an "acceptable" periodic loss of innocent lives whilst remaining powerless to prevent another one (and making utterances along the lines of "we shall not bow to terrorism"). Suggest you do a bit of reading on the history of NI and how the IRA were a marginalised, weak organisation until the nationalist population realised that there was no point in staying in the middle ground.

Suggest you do a bit of reading on the history of NI and how the IRA were a marginalised, weak organisation until the nationalist population realised that there was no point in staying in the middle ground.
