Messy again - though if it had been Max ahead with Lewis chasing I'm sure the Lewis fans would have wanted to have seen them race in the last lap.

Today Red Bull did all they could and prepared themselves in case the cards fell their way, Checo showed his class and great team work, and Max finished it off on the final lap.

One of them was always going to be unlucky at the end, and it was hard luck and a though finish for Hamilton, but lots of respect for Lewis and dad on their reaction at the end of the race.

I was incredibly pissed off at the time and remained pissed off until the rugby, now I'm done with it. What's done is done, it was a diabolical decision that demeans the sport and taints Max's win, though judging by Max's fans I doubt they'll see it that way and Max certainly won't.

It's one of those decisions that is just so obviously designed to create drama at the expense of the sport itself that it's entirely reasonable to be outraged by it. To be robbed of a world championship because the race director thought it'd be more fun if there was a last lap race with a car that had perfect tyres...

Well Lewis also avoided Max crashing into him on lap 1. But he had one win less than Max, so them both crashing out only helps the Dutchman.

I think Lewis also knew which way any 50/50 stewards decision was going to go today. He had to win clean.

It's not Masi's fault the two top teams continually broke rules, & forced decisions like this on him & the stewards !

Today wasn't an isolated incident; it was every race, on & off the track they've been acting like twats; both sides trying to use the rules, & stewards as weapons against other teams. It diminishes the sport; & if I were running Merc, I would have been on the phone to tell toto to wind his neck in, & stop damaging my brand !

The amount of pressure both Wolff and Horner have put the stewards under all year is disgraceful. It was bound to end badly, and will only continue. They both need to be be told to STFU more.

They put the stewards and Masi under mad pressure, in combination with the pressure on safety.

Verstappen hadn't lapped the ones between him and Hamilton and he pitted during the yellow. I don't know if Sainz had lapped the ones between him and Verstappen and am unsure of whether he pitted or not - though I suppose he'd have been given the place back?

Lewis had a 17 sec lead with 4 laps to go. No-one would think he didn’t deserve to cross the line first today in that situation.

You make a good point though which I'd not considered. Sainz hadn't pitted but that's not the point, he had track position in a genuine third place. Norris was the highest placed of the five cars Masi instructed to give way to Verstappen and he finish race in seventh.

I was actually resigned to Max losing after those first few laps, so just pleasantly surprised for the guy that he's won a first ever World Championship.
I'm not going to debate Masi's decision, cause you don't want a debate; you will only accept people who agree with you in this state.

And I avoided posting closer to the race, to avoid any emotional posting (as well as having better things to do). Apologies if that makes me 'transparent'.
