I wonder if underestimating Bangladesh led to some of our batsmen being a bit cavalier and is not putting up the imposing total we could have.

Hundred partnership up for Joy and Shanto.

I've been very impressed with this Bangladesh team so far. They appear to be a tight, well-drilled outfit.

The bowlers and today the batsmen showed admirable patience and commitment.

He use the likes of Charl Langeveld (current Protea bowling coach) , Vettori, Neil McKenzie.

He did the long coaching cycle in SA. Warriors, SA u19, Proteas exc.

Another loss via CSA shiteness.

I hope the Blackcaps middle order (Nicholls excluded) is paying attention as Bangladesh get closer and closer to what could be a handy first innings lead.

Very much this. They are showing a genuine determination not to lose their wickets cheaply that the BCs would do well to emulate.

And with Ravindra with 13 overs so far, I hope Stead considers whether Ajaz Patel should have been in the side.

It surely must be a first in test cricket where a bowler takes all 10 and is dropped for the next test.

NZ can't buy a wicket - Bangladesh have been better every day.

Couple of the bowlers have been very disappointing.

Big workloads too. What are the options for the next one? Ajaz Patel and Matt Henry are two possibilities depending on the balance they want. I’m not convinced by Ravindra’s batting to see him as a true all rounder and with the number of overs he has got through this test, I would bring in Patel if the pitch at Hagley could be similar. Southee looks down on pace so maybe Henry could get a run on his home ground too.

Well firstly - it is a good wake up call. Bangladesh will and deserve to win this test.

Far better all round.

I genuinely think that Southee is ready to step down. I don't think Henry is a permanent option - he is too easy to go after. Wagner and Boult are the 2 always picks.

Think NZ are about to go through a big building phase.

But what is happening in this game is pretty embarrassing for NZ cricket.

I think it’s hard to judge Henry when he barely gets more than one test at a time. Ferguson was an option but is injury prone and I don’t follow domestic cricket enough anymore to know other options. How does Sears go in first class cricket?

We are having a bad test and I agree that we have 2~3 players reaching the tail end of their careers but let's not chuck the baby out with the bathwater.

BCs take the last four wickets for 13 runs, finally, and the Bangles lead is 130. Let's hope that the batsmen have taken on board the lessons learnt from watching the Bangles' batting.

Our batsmen really don't seem to have taken on the lessons of the BD disciplined approach.

They have just followed it with an absurd review for lbw from a forward defensive shot and the ball hitting the middle of the bat. BD have no reviews left.

Bangladesh has now blown all three of their DRS reviews.

You would have got good odds on a draw or Bangladesh win on day 1 before the toss.

Now we are trying to hang on.

Beautiful delivery by Ebadot and Nicholls out for 0. Our lead is probably not quite enough yet.

I feel quite guilty about this because the Kiwis on this board are a decent bunch but I'm loving the Bangladeshis efforts here. C'mon!
