The bowlers and today the batsmen showed admirable patience and commitment.Gumboot wrote: Sun Jan 02, 2022 4:44 am Hundred partnership up for Joy and Shanto.
I've been very impressed with this Bangladesh team so far. They appear to be a tight, well-drilled outfit.

Russell Domingo is a good coach.

Very much this. They are showing a genuine determination not to lose their wickets cheaply that the BCs would do well to emulate.Jb1981 wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 1:37 am I hope the Blackcaps middle order (Nicholls excluded) is paying attention as Bangladesh get closer and closer to what could be a handy first innings lead.
And with Ravindra with 13 overs so far, I hope Stead considers whether Ajaz Patel should have been in the side.Kiwias wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 2:05 amVery much this. It surely must be a first in test cricket where a bowler takes all 10 and is dropped for the next test.Jb1981 wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 2:27 amAnd with Ravindra with 13 overs so far, I hope Stead considers whether Ajaz Patel should have been in the side.Kiwias wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 2:05 amVery much this. NZ can't buy a wicket - Bangladesh have been better every day.
Couple of the bowlers have been very disappointing.

Big workloads too. What are the options for the next one? Ajaz Patel and Matt Henry are two possibilities depending on the balance they want. I’m not convinced by Ravindra’s batting to see him as a true all rounder and with the number of overs he has got through this test, I would bring in Patel if the pitch at Hagley could be similar. Southee looks down on pace so maybe Henry could get a run on his home ground too.Thor Sedan wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 10:17 pm NZ can't buy a wicket - Bangladesh have been better every day.

Well firstly - it is a good wake up call. Bangladesh will and deserve to win this test.Jb1981 wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 10:54 pmBig workloads too. What are the options for the next one? Far better all round.
I genuinely think that Southee is ready to step down. I don't think Henry is a permanent option - he is too easy to go after. Wagner and Boult are the 2 always picks.
Think NZ are about to go through a big building phase.
But what is happening in this game is pretty embarrassing for NZ cricket.
We are having a bad test and I agree that we have 2~3 players reaching the tail end of their careers but let's not chuck the baby out with the bathwater.Thor Sedan wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 11:18 pmWell firstly - it is a good wake up call. Bangladesh has now blown all three of their DRS reviews.

That was a classic.Kiwias wrote: Tue Jan 04, 2022 3:35 amThey have just followed it with an absurd review for lbw from a forward defensive shot and the ball hitting the middle of the bat.

I feel quite guilty about this because the Kiwis on this board are a decent bunch but I'm loving the Bangladeshis efforts here. C'mon!
