I was not keen on SA teams in the URC but have changed my mind. They have struggled a wee bit but I have enjoyed watching them. A couple of players I know say they bring a whole different set of challenges, not least their sheer size. I am sure they will improve as they get their Boks back and find their feet in the competition.

The Six Nations is a whole different ball game. There was a lack of depth in the Pro14, so bringing in the SA teams was to the advantage of both. I struggle to see where the Six Nations has an issue. The stadiums sell out for every match, there is considerable benefit to host cities from large travelling support, and all in all it is an attractive offering for sponsors and TV.

It is conceivable the the URC countries might be happy to add the Boks. They have variations of centralised systems so clubs losing players for longer international windows may be less of an issue. Especially as the international game funds everything else. I can't see the private English and French clubs wearing it unless some very significant compensation is agreed, .

You're flying South for the most part not East or West. There's no jetlag, time difference is about 2 hours. The day is still day and the night is still night.

This is a big factor. It might be a longer, more expensive flight, but the exchange rate will make for an excellent holiday.

I'd only spend 5 hours in the air getting to Rome vs. 22 for Pretoria, which, as suggested above, is kind of a big deal when you only have 48 hours available.
