I didn't go mad for it on first sight, but on reflection thought it was pretty good.

The Ray Harryhausen monster was really cool, and I like the idea that Fett is still nowhere near his best, needing to be dumped in the bacta tank after strenuous exertions.

Not really on topic but I found this clip pretty cool. I'm not sure if its just nostalgia but TV was so much cooler back then. I loved Hill Street Blues, Miami Vice, LA Law etc. The favourite TV show was a family gathering, streaming has changed that completely. Friday 8pm was always a Western serial. The High Chapparal was my favourite it was aired in SA probably around 1979, years after its US release.

They didn't mention him, but was Kyra Sedgwick talking to Phil Collins in that clip?

You're right indeed.

Philip David Charles "Phil" Collins (born January 30, 1951) is a British singer, songwriter, drummer, and actor who appeared in the show Miami Vice as Phil Mayhew, a long-time con man who brings his cons to the United States in "Phil the Shill". His song "Life Is a Rat Race" also features in the episode.

Boba Fett episode 2 was great! Creepy incesty Hutt twins, evil Wookie, lore expansion, Babel Lizard/In your face, Space Coyote, the forging of the stick and Lawrence of Tatooine. Top notch.

It was hugely entertaining. I got notes of Dances with Wolves and Tom Cruise from the Last Samurai. Its interesting to think that most Millennials and Gen Z's won't pick up the various nods to the Western genre.

There was even a Dune like reference to the spice mining/smuggling on that train thing

Definitely and literally Dances With Tuskens, although Fett is shown to be bringing new ideas rather than the White Guy Beats Noble Natives At Their Own Game After 10 Minutes Study trope (yes, I know Morrison isn't a White Guy).

Can't help but think that should've been the first episode, the first one was so poor by comparison.

They should have done either a double header release (like Hawkeye) or just made the two episodes into the blockbuster show opener, twice as long as a usual episode.

In a similar vein, Chestnut Man on Netflix. Am only a couple of episodes into it but it’s quite good so far.

I did like the first 2. But shit I’m starting to get put off by Gervais’s constant annoying and slightly arrogant promotions through the media (social and otherwise)

Not sure it's been mentioned already, but all episodes of the mini-series 'The Tourist' are now on BBC iPlayer.

Fun mix of drama with the randomly absurd, in the mad setting of the Ozzie outback.

Not perfect, but enjoyable and a bit different.

It’s dropped, watched most of it. Only 6 x 30 mins.
It’s regressed back to the I’m miserable, moping, drinking, watching loads of videos of ex wife, and I will be a cunt to everyone.

Will have to watch the last series of 'The Expanse' now the whole series is up - just 6 episodes this time. A pity there are no plans for further series as 'Persepolis Rising' is an interesting read so far ( one third of the way through) but as
Spoiler
Show
it takes place after a 30 year gap I can see why they don't plan to continue with the show

Ozark Season 4 kicks off next week. I normally lose interest by season 4 of just about everything I've watched. But I enjoyed the first 3 seasons hugely.

Anyone watch the Expanse season 6?

Am flabbergasted it's over so quickly.
It's the equivalent of GOT deciding to focus on kings landing alone and only do a 5 minute snippet at the start of each episode to cover the life & death struggle in the north.

Watched the first 2 epis so far, there is a lot to cram into just 6. Not sure where they are going with the mini story of the girl on Laconia as that isn't in the Babylon's Ashes book nor the next in the series. Having set up the protomolecule thing so much I suppose they will have to try and give some sort of ending to it - the following books seem to take that on a lot further.

Don’t understand why they bothered with Laconia either.

Just finished the last book, and they nailed the landing IMO.

I thought they did try and cram a bit too much into the final episode. Still, season 6 was pretty good overall.

It would have been far better if GOT ended around season 4

Its the strange dogs novella. set between Babylon's Ashes and Persepolis Rising

I think they are hoping to produce a couple of movies in the future.

So which book is after season 6? Seeing as it’s likely canned, might as well read the rest.

There are plenty of good examples but The Night Of box set has to be one of the most chillingly realistic versions of how brutal their criminal justice system is

Up to episode 4 now - I think I can see why they might have included the Laconia scenes now - connections with something spoilery in the Book 7 story 'Persepolis Rising'. However if they aren't going on to make any more of the series not sure I understand why they took up time with it in this series, might have allowed some slower pacing as things heat up. There are a few changes to the story, most notably Book 7
Spoiler
Show
they killed off Alex last season who is alive and well in Book 7
which makes me wonder if they really have condensed the finale to include things I haven't yet read...

The Night of.

I can't remember the name of the film but it had Tom Selleck in as someone that was framed by the police on a drugs bust at the wrong house. Stuff of nightmares.
