Quins addiction to last gasp finishes is going to cost them one day, but it's not this one.
Not many. Over that last 10 though...Jim Lahey wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 9:57 pm Mike Adamson setting UK-France relations back quite abit with that display![]()
How many fuck ups did he make in Quins favour over the course of the game?
You'd be steaming if you were a Castres fan.
Jesus. That's some score
Not the strongest Edinburgh team but also not much interest in tackling from Brive.Margin__Walker wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:12 pmJesus. That's some score
Makes the 'draw' LI got with them for our cancelled home game the pre Christmas even more annoying.
Adamson was the difference tbh.Tichtheid wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:15 pm tbh, I think it's shit for wankers like Austin Healy to call out referees' decisions like that.
At the last ruck, the one Healy bleated on about, Adamson was on the other side unsighted and the referee is part of a team. If he misses it and the two ARs miss it, tough shite, move on.
Adamson wasn't the difference in the game, referees seldom, if ever, are the difference. Go through every single play and you'll find several reasons to award penalties to either side in every game, and it is stop start enough as it is.
This does not in any way dismiss the fact that homer refereeing exists, but over the course of a season the better teams win leagues and cups

Nah, fuck off with that. Castres left enough points out there to win the game.Yeah some late decisions might have been more in Quins favour, but not exclusively and Adamson was shite for both throughout the game. It all balances out.C69 wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:45 pmAdamson was the difference tbh.Tichtheid wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:15 pm tbh, I think it's shit for wankers like Austin Healy to call out referees' decisions like that.

Edinburgh could have had another 30 if they’d kept their level of play up for 80 minutes.robmatic wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:17 pmNot the strongest Edinburgh team but also not much interest in tackling from Brive.Margin__Walker wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:12 pmJesus. That's some score

bloody right. He can't escape that particular butchery
Plus all the other points he left on the field. At least he was a good goalkicker when he was at Quins.
Yes. He was. Quins really lucky that he awarded the blocking try and for a Brace special in disallowing the legit turnover which would have ended the game. FWIW, I smelled upset on this one and went Quins < 5 and so can thank Adams' efforts for my get out of jail card.C69 wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:45 pmAdamson was the difference tbh.Tichtheid wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:15 pm tbh, I think it's shit for wankers like Austin Healy to call out referees' decisions like that.

Hah. See my post above. I was torn because my stake was on Quins sneaking it. Average pick was Quins by 12+ which shows what some people know!
Mike Adamson of Scotland is the only other referee to have two matches, officiating France v Scotland in Round 1 before also being on the whistle for England v Wales at Twickenham in Round 3.

Agree. Much as Castres are disliked in France, you rarely see them simply throw games.
You couldn't make it up. What's the point of watching that one? I doubt even Leinster any fans would clsincaim to be excited by the prospect of the most foregone conclusion since Mussolini said no surrender.PCPhil wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 9:31 am So the freeview CH4 game today is Bath v Leinster. Should be a close one, if Leinster went out on the lash last night that is.
After Montpellier last week, some of the French teams can be a disgrace to the game.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 9:51 amAgree. Much as Castres are disliked in France, you rarely see them simply throw games.
We've come full circle. For many years, most Fre sides considered T* more important than Europe. Toulouse being the consistent exception but they had deep resources enabling them to compete on 2 fronts. The Parker was viewed as a waste of time and so you saw stuff like Agen chucking games.Blackmac wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 10:56 amAfter Montpellier last week, some of the French teams can be a disgrace to the game.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 9:51 amAgree. He can't be doing that in Round 1 as he's ScottishHal Jordan wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 8:34 am This should please Torq

I have seen him ref a few games, cant recall a good performance from him, not sure how he has managed to get Tier 1 international games.mos_eisely_ wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 11:41 amHe can't be doing that in Round 1 as he's ScottishHal Jordan wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 8:34 am This should please Torq

edit. I checked, he had France v Italy. 6N fucked up their own copy
Well, now Mackey has spoken and whilst we can hope the crook will be in jail sometime soon, he is still head of the FFR and has spoken out against EPCR. So now we have Fra's top club, the body that runs the Fre league and the national federation all laying into EPCR.SaintK wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 12:31 pm Racing v Saints match tomorrow gone.
Positive tests in the Saints camp this morning.
Racing "win" 28-0, which is probably a lot less than the actual result would have been!!!
Yup. 2 good chances already squandered from complete ineptitude.
I think most Scots would agree that Hollie Davidson is the best Scottish ref. Personally, I have always been impressed by her calm and authoritative manner. She manages that difficult balance of being friendly but leaving no one in any doubt who is in charge. She is less experienced than Adamson, and she is very young for a ref, but her day will come, as will that of Joy Neville.ASMO wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 11:47 amI have seen him ref a few games, cant recall a good performance from him, not sure how he has managed to get Tier 1 international games.mos_eisely_ wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 11:41 amHe can't be doing that in Round 1 as he's Scottish

Looking at the two sides I reckon they would have put 50+ on us. We've got no chance of getting through and I'd rather Saints didn't take another hammering, so this isn't terrible news.SaintK wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 12:31 pm Racing v Saints match tomorrow gone.
