Wonderful news and a long time coming. I just hope Kenya and Zim can afford to keep a team in SA long enough for the games.

Burger Odendaal confirmed moving to Wasps next season. Time for Henco van Wyk and Tyler Bocks to step up.

Lions are losing players at a rate of knots.

Something is wrong at the Bulls. They shouldn't be this weak

We're not talking enough about this.

The money that they poured in to that club, they should be doing much better both in the URC and CC. Their dominance over the pandemic period appears to be a false dawn, and I think Jake White has a lot to answer for.

To me, Jake White is a lot like Eddie Jones. When he is new at a team, he is great at turning things around. After a few years tho, it all turns to shit.

I think Jake White would be best utilised as under 20 coach.

I think you're right. He has a history of cut and run. I'm surprised he's lasted this long.

The biggest disappointment for me was Duane. They must have paid a fortune to get him back, he plays a handful of games and then leaves.

I see that Arno Botha is off again too.

That's a risk you take by buying big name players. The next big offer is only an e-mail or phone call away.

I see Jacques du Plessis and Cyle Brink are out for a while with injuries too. I reckon players returning from overseas do so because they fear their bodies are breaking down or guys like PSDT and Etzebeth who will most likely retire after 2023 RWC.

PSDT is 29 and Etzebeth 30. They might have a go at the next RWC in 2027.

I didn't think they were both so young!

But those two in particular have no regard for their own bodies. I can't see injuries letting either of them go to 2027.

PSDT comes from money and seems like the kind of guy who'd want to go back to the farm early. And he has had a fair run of injuries so I reckon he could stay maybe a season or two with Province at the most after RWC 23. Eben maybe goes to Japan for a couple of seasons. I still think a move back to SA at age 30 means they've had enough. Which is fair considering these guys have 12 years of adult rugby under their belts in what is one of the most punishing positions in the sport.

Dobson brought Etsebeth through the Ikeys pipeline.

Maybe they'll end up together as Springboks.

What makes you think that he comes from money?

Kloovenberg makes good wine, but isn't really a big producer. Look I'm sue that they are very comfortable, but I don't think that he comes from money.

I stayed a few years (when I was still on honeymoon) in Riebeek. Know Piet Spiere well enough to know the du Toits have money, enough.

Will be massive to get PSdT back at WP. Bakkies will never complain about him not giving 110% for his province. He went through his injuries but played out of his skin for the Stormers.

I've been to Kloovenberg and stayed at their lodge in Riebeeck Kasteel called Pastorie. I reckon they qualify as being a wealthy family. PSDT will never have to look for a job after rugby.

My oldest brother died in a motor accident at turn off from Malmesbury to Riebeek at Kloovenburg in 1972 Piet Spiere was one of the first to get to him.

It feels like the Bulls sign all these players on short term contracts, as fast as they come in, they go out. Money has not been wisely spend on players, they mostly seem to sign players who are at the end of their careers and on the way back home to retire. There has been a lot of players in and out of the Bulls over the last few years. They can make a pretty good team out of players who left in the last 3 or so years. I also feel they have focused way to much on getting certain types of forwards in, but i think we do not have props that are that good right now, they get showed up to much in scrums for my liking. Also the backline was a bit neglected during the recruitment drive, they only brought in a couple of players that were on their last legs, they just cannot put in a shift week in/week out. I actually would love if the Bulls can get Simelane away from the Lions, we have exciting players like Arendse/Gans, but we do not have a center pairing and flyhalf that can make full use of that. Add that to the Bulls being really bad travelers and its a real uphill struggle.
