Henry and Southee making efforts with the ball to compensate for their poor batting displays.

Jamieson and Jansen should be a great lock pair on the rugby field.

Wagner persists with the short stuff and VDD prods one back to him for a neat c&b.

Bowling - 21 wickets @ 19.48
Batting - 109 runs @ 21.8

Tests against the no.2 and 3 ranked test teams. His physique reminds me of Aussie beanpole Bruce Reid. I hope he doesn't have the same injury issues.
He has a very smooth bowling action and it does not seem too strenuous on the knees
You're right about the action. It's the stress fractures of the back that worry the most. Reid, Pattinson, Cummins, Starc all had them as youngsters.

I'll feel a bit better if we reach a 300 run lead. CDG really did amazingly well to get that 100. Saved the game for them.

The game is not saved yet. If the target is 250 ~ 300, we are in with a chance.

Will be surprised if we get 100 more runs. One more wicket and you are in our tail.

In the first innings, you went from 277 - 5 to a total of 364, nearly 100 more runs.

The lead is up to 326 with three wickets in hand. I’ve got a feeling we could be rolled on this chasing.

I forgot about the game and just checked the scores...

initial reaction... we're fucked. They've played really well and have plenty to defend. If they bat on until an hour or so before stumps they could easily have us 2-3 down chasing over 400.

25-3

I think this is illustrative of NZ’s form levels from test 1 to 2.

Maharaj gets Mitchell. Can't play tests without a spinner.

Assess the conditions before making decisions. Maharaj has been good here.

The last few years we had a long tail. Looking better now with Jansen, Maharaj and Rabada.

Boucher got heavy critics not selecting him some time ago as backup for QdK but stick with Klaasen.

Great to see him producing now.

I've missed most of the game apart from bits of day one. Won't be seeing any of tomorrow's action either...small blessings etc.

Well played SA, this is turning into quite a thumping to rescue the series.

Black Caps and Proteas are second tier cricket countries according to the IRR.

India, Australia and England 1st tier, they get more tests.
