1. What happens if the saaks keep on performing below expectations with the cream of the crop playing for them? Bit of a double edge sword.
2. The saaks have 2 groups of players, the superstars and the rest who make up the numbers. Will team dynamics play a role?

The next Stormer they'll buy will be Damian Willemse.
We will pay the Stormers to keep him thanks.OomStruisbaai wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 11:27 am The next Stormer they'll buy will be Damian Willemse.

The Sharks will be the Springboks in time.....

Could well be. They don't have quality players at 10, 12 and 15.OomStruisbaai wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 11:27 am The next Stormer they'll buy will be Damian Willemse.

They are not Stormers players ouboet. They are mercenaries who play for the highest bidder that can offer them what they need. Just like I don't think Roos and PSDT are Sharks players. Unless we can replicate the Leinster model, going to seriously struggle in between all the Boks on national duty, CC and Champions Cup rugby (should we qualify) to get any consistency in the team and enough game time for the developing players at high enough levels.
We'll have him for the majority of the URC season. At least from December to June.

Bakkies think you bought a duck.Sards wrote: Sun Feb 13, 2022 7:29 am Not convinced with all the old timers, especially at the Bulls. Eben could work tho
Eben Etzebeth? Incredible fighter, best second row in the world,” Botha told Midi Olympique. “But I regret that he only shows his best face with the Springboks. In Toulon, he is still a little injured, concussed and in the end, never plays.
“Obviously, he was not made for France and he will turn his back on the problems the club went through to return to South Africa.
“It’s disappointing. I love Eben, I repeat. But you can’t say when you arrive in Toulon: ‘I want to be champion of France’ and leave some time later without having marked the club in one way or another.
“His first season was not bad but it is not enough. When you recruit a world-class player, it’s for him to make a difference.”
Bakkies’ comments echo those of club president Bernard Lemaître who last month labelled Etzebeth a “handicap” owing to due his huge salary and the fact he has been unavailable for large parts of the rugby year either through injury or through Springbok duty.
Etzebeth returned from concussion after a three-month absence but reports indicate he is once again sidelined with a calf injury. Meanwhile Toulon, once the envy of Europe, are rooted near the bottom of the Top 14 table and face the prospect of relegation
Why Lood now? Just a few days ago you were regularly stating that you have no issue at lock.Sards wrote: Fri Feb 18, 2022 2:06 pm Vok....
The Sharks now have 7 RWC winners in their side....
Just need Loodt and Andre Esterhuizen now and we would be stronger than most Nations sides

I think the amount of money these guys are making is so much that they can afford to come back sooner. They're already pretty much set for life. PSDT even more so with the family business.assfly wrote: Mon Feb 21, 2022 6:15 am I hear PSdT is making noises about coming back to SA. Would be great to see him back at the province that made him into what he is, but from what I've seen he's quite the family guys so likely to head back to CT.

See Keo& Rapport already have Lood, PSdT, Specman on WP books. Then they mention Blommetjies and I got a big kak about all of them.
PSdT always have his younger boet as passenger.
WP must invest in young hungry talented players. Bring them through CC.

That's the problem with the big name players. Not many of them have the Kitshoff and PSdT attitude playing on lower level. Etsebeth will fit right in with Amm, Kolisi and kie. Just going through the motions and collecting their pay check. They are rolling stones. Youngsters like Roos have the hunger, playing for the jersey and much better investments.handyman wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 9:17 amIt's all about the money for the saaks.OomStruisbaai wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 8:31 am Am off to Japan. I read that differently until I saw the headlines.

Fair enough. A two month break in return for a 3 year contract sounds like a good deal to me.
He is after all the best 13 in the world at the moment.

I read that PSDT made the most tackles for his Japanese side ....... Its fantastic that he sacrificed everything to play for them , all the way around the world....whilst being paid by WP from SARU........yet has not played a single URC match...OomStruisbaai wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 9:25 amThat's the problem with the big name players. Kitsoff is a spent force.....Stormers are 16th in terms of scrummaging.....Cape town is a great place to retire.

I am on the line to Andre Esterhuizen right now....I will respond shortly...
But suffice to say....the Sharks is by far , by a country mile.....the most proffessional SA side in the comp....I am sure they will be fine.
Its not our fault you were paying Kolisi with papsaks......I think he drank to forget playing for the Stormers.handyman wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 9:56 am Interestingly, the player that saaks supporters on here have criticized the most is now their captain. The amount of egg on faces![]()
