I loved that show, too.Mr Bubble Gum wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 6:41 am Just happened to stumble upon Mr Inbetween buried deep in the Disney plus archives. Snaffled all 3 seasons in a few days - hugely enjoyable. Pretty rare to find something of this genre with such top drawer performances and direction…

“Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true.”
Can’t wait.
I think it deserves a re watch ahead of this finale.
Enjoying LK much more than VV. I gave up on Vikings though prior to the final season.ASMO wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 2:35 pm Watched Vikings Valhalla, really enjoyed it, the latest series of The Last Kingdom just dropped, looking forwards to that too.
Just finished watching all of Foyle's War (after I saw it "live" many years ago). Good old British detective drama.
Harmless and easy going - just what is needed in the troubled times.

Cast includes the excellent Tom Hollander, Joe Cole (John Shelby from Peaky Blinders) and Lucy Boynton. If you like cold war thriller then I recommend this highly.
Good shout, I had forgotten that was coming to tv.
That’s great! My friend is binging Murder She Wrote and gives me updates on similar sightings (Bryan Cranston, for example). I’m a big Magnum fan and off the top of my head can tell you Ian McShane, Ted Danson and Sharon Stone are killed in their guest spots. Shannon Doherty (Beverly Hills 90210) and Alfonso Ribiero (Fresh Prince) as children. I think, maybe because it was a bigger show (?), most of its cameos were old stars and Miami Vice was after the young and good looking (or thug-looking) types?FalseBayFC wrote: Wed Jan 05, 2022 5:43 am Not really on topic but I found this clip pretty cool. I'm not sure if its just nostalgia but TV was so much cooler back then. I loved Hill Street Blues, Miami Vice, LA Law etc. The favourite TV show was a family gathering, streaming has changed that completely. Friday 8pm was always a Western serial. The High Chapparal was my favourite it was aired in SA probably around 1979, years after its US release.

Worth watching, then? I have a lot of fondness for the mid-00s comic run and the involvement of Ethan Hawke was intriguing since he tends to make choices that are at the very least interesting to watch, but the series trailer didn't grab me. The less said about Oscar Isaac's 'cockney' accent the better...Marylandolorian wrote: Fri Apr 01, 2022 8:46 pm Moon Knight, I hope the following episodes are as good as the 1st one.

Late to the party but have started watching The Witcher while I briefly subscribe to Netflix. A few epis into the first season and as a book reader / game player I think it captures the spirit of the world rather well, that cynical world weariness of Geralt's and a fantasy world that is rooted in a modern feeling realpolitik despite the pseudo-mediaeval setting. Jaskier aka Dandelion is pushed up to more of a main character and although not like I imagine him from books and game is a good comedic offset to the general brutality and seriousness. Oh, and there are tits, a lot of them.

Season 1 is a bit uneven but season 2 is excellent. Cavill is a lot of fun as Geralt. The fight scene in Blaviken still blows me away.

Even knowing the back-story from the books the jumping of timelines takes some getting used to.Uncle fester wrote: Tue Apr 05, 2022 7:18 pm Season 1 is a bit uneven but season 2 is excellent. Cavill is a lot of fun as Geralt. The fight scene in Blaviken still blows me away.

Yes but they ditch that for season 2 and it's far stronger.
Book fanatics on Reddit are not mad about the changes but let's see where they go with it.

Season 1 was much better than S2, imo.tabascoboy wrote: Tue Apr 05, 2022 8:14 pmEven knowing the back-story from the books the jumping of timelines takes some getting used to.Uncle fester wrote: Tue Apr 05, 2022 7:18 pm Season 1 is a bit uneven but season 2 is excellent. The timeline jumping was a feature of the first season, which I think added to it, in hindsight.

It was great! Loved the Christopher Walken/John Torturro dynamic. Patricia Arquette is uber creepy. In fact the whole cast are amazing.

Its unapologetic low-brow sci-fi action pulp but I'm loving the Halo series. Released weekly no on episode 4.

Have really been enjoying Cobra Kai. It is silly, poorly acted and features rubbishly choregraphed fight scenes - but the characters are likeable/sufficiently evil and going on a fantastical learning journey.
The nostalgia is bordering on obscene.
Hard to fault really.

Aye - he is a stand out. His 'bro' attitude is so on point and the back and forth between him and Daniel Larusso is great. Loving the little meta references as well - like someone yelling out that 'Larusso was the bully in high school' and the constant references to the Crane Kick being illegal.Ymx wrote: Fri Apr 15, 2022 4:43 pmIt’s hilarious. Outer Range has Josh Brolin and Will Patton starring in a super-natural/Western on Amazon. Its set on the Wyoming prairie with the snowy mountains of Yellowstone in the background. I'm enjoying it after 2 episodes. I tried to watch Yellowstone but my found it another Costner ego vehicle. Outer Range is more my cup of Western tea.
Thanks for the recommendation, also liking it after an episode.FalseBayFC wrote: Mon Apr 18, 2022 11:45 am Outer Range has Josh Brolin and Will Patton starring in a super-natural/Western on Amazon. Finished The Witcher Season 2. that was good fun. After some uncertainty over the casting, for Jaskier the actor won me over in season 2, his comedic timing is very good and he sure can sing. 'Whoreson Prison Blues' LOL. Seems like we might have to wait until next year for the next season...
Anyone watched the animation The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf?

Just finished the first block of Stranger Things season 4. Really enjoyed it. Lacked a bit of pace in some of the middle episodes, but the final one really brought a lot of it together and set up the last block.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

Just finished Better Call Saul first part. It's been very good so far.
Watched first episode of Stranger Things S4. I'll always love this show because it transports me straight back to the eighties . The Duffer brothers who write the show are millennials born in 1984 and have done amazingly well to recreate the zeitgeist given they won't have had much memory of the time.
Spoiler
Show
Lalo Salamanca is a fkn great villain. The final scene was just epic
Absolutely loving Stranger Things and can't wait fir the final 2 episodes.
Bosch Legacy ok. Not as good as previous seasons, think it loses something without J Edgar as his partner, but still worth a watch.
Talking of J Edgar, 4 episodes into We Own This City is. Assuming it's accurate enough it's fucking mind boggling. Will have to get through book.
Our Falklands War was a very emotional watch. Definitely one to watch if you've an interest in the conflict.
