Italy’s shite tackling let Wales in to the lead so it was kind of Wales to even it up.Big D wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 4:04 pm Great run, but that is weak as fuck from Jiffy's motm. Have to make that tackle.
Well played Italy

Yes, presumably not meaning Alun Wyn even though it should be.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 4:17 pm Biggar "Last chance for some players". Did I hear that right?
Also Moriarty shoved the Italian winger in the build up to the try which put him in the position to score. Fantastic.
Just rewound and saw it, that’s superb

Agree. Like Sexton, anyone thinking he's making it through the RWC is delusional.Crash669 wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 4:22 pmYes, presumably not meaning Alun Wyn even though it should be.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 4:17 pm Biggar "Last chance for some players". Did I hear that right?

You're comparing a world cup winning medal to a dead rubber motm award?Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 4:25 pmEat that SBW![]()

Apart from the try, Italy tackling and general defence was excellent. Very few pens and no stupid ones. The weakness has always been being toothless in attack. Maybe they can bring along a new gen that can at least offer a bit of a threat there?

Not sure an appropriate mix of emojis there, but just about acceptable on this occasion between consenting adults.

I'm feeling happy and also rather smug...PCPhil wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 4:29 pmNot sure an appropriate mix of emojis there, but just about acceptable on this occasion between consenting adults.

That's how it always feels to beat Wales

And we’ll still finish 3rd so we are gradually improving towards our world cup domination.sefton wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 4:36 pm I can quite happily watch England take a thrashing tonight and I’ll still be smiling.

Funny enough, I was seriously thinking the reverse. Ridiculously pleased for Italy.sefton wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 4:36 pm I can quite happily watch England take a thrashing tonight and I’ll still be smiling.
Not something I've experienced since 2007!
If you search on utub for wales v italy try, scroll a little bit you get the Italian commentary. Passionately restrained. Quite sweet really.

congrats to Italy..well deserved
Over the years in the Washington, DC area, six nation weekend after weekend there was always a hard core group of rugby fans who showed up at 9am or earlier.
It was always the usual suspects with fans (many Irish, many Scottish, etc) but there was always the one lone Italian fan, Corrado who showed up week after week, year after year in his various Italian jerseys...he suffered, caught crap....but was so passionate...never gave up..
He moved out of the area this year, so I hope wherever he is, he has a smile as big as the ocean and having as many pints as he wants...

I've recently been quite critical of Italy - not the team as such, but their seemingly superfluous membership of the 6N on the back of a 36-match losing streak.
But credit where its due, that was a terrific win in Cardiff today, and I hope their long-suffering fans are still celebrating hard.
