That sort of thing should go back to being a 22 drop out rather than goal line.

Looks continuous to me but maybe you are an optimist!

Ireland illegal at the breakdown. Who'd have thought it?
Didn't last as long as Schoeman!fishfoodie wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 6:25 pm Furlong has some engine to play 67 minutes in a game of this pace
They both went into contact on their feet though.Biffer wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 6:32 pm Do our forward go on the pitch with earplugs in? Barnes makes it clear what he’s watching for and we proceed to do exactly that and get pinged. Fucking stupid.

I actually feel some sympathy for the Sweaties. It must be like being a France supporter for decades. Just so much dim every game.
Basically the parts are greater than the sum of the whole.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 6:39 pm I actually feel some sympathy for the Sweaties. It must be like being a France supporter for decades. Just so much dim every game.
We’ve been doing it for decades too, it’s just it used to be matched up with very little talent so it wasn’t noticed.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 6:39 pm I actually feel some sympathy for the Sweaties. It must be like being a France supporter for decades. Just so much dim every game.

Perpetually their own worst enemies.ASMO wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 6:40 pmBasically the parts are greater than the sum of the whole.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 6:39 pm I actually feel some sympathy for the Sweaties. Shit game of rugby livened up by boat races here

No salty tears there then.

Agree. It was dull.
Well, I expected nothing from this game and I feared a tanking. As it progressed I started to think that not coughing up a BP would be a decent outcome. So naturally we do that with the last play of the game.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
Yes. We did have a period where the discipline improved - a year or two. I’m not sure, but I suspect it may have coincided with Vern Cotter being the coach. Prior to his appointment I was saying a coach like that was exactly what we needed, and guess what, it still is.Biffer wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 6:41 pmWe’ve been doing it for decades too, it’s just it used to be matched up with very little talent so it wasn’t noticed.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 6:39 pm I actually feel some sympathy for the Sweaties. Sorry, struggle to see the relevance of that comment. Expected Ireland to win and not surprised at the result, just from a rugby point of view, Ireland are a better, more consistent team than France.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 6:48 pmBlackmac wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 6:44 pm Decent game to be fair. He was good for the majority of the match but I thought he lost the plot a bit at the end. Didn't penalise Ireland for not retreating 10, allowed POM to drag the SH into a maul. Penalised the pick and drive when they did exactly what he instructed them to do and then allowed POM to jump into the tackle. Consistency has always been his problem,Slick wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 7:21 pm Well done Ireland, not at their best but still too good.
Well done Barnes, still the best ref

Nice bit of refined cruelty, that.
