Currie Cup
James Venter is class. And a leader that leads by example.
He really is growing on me. And he is always available to sit the bench for the URC side. Basically 2 games a week

It was a tough old game. Defense was outstanding. Both wanted it badly.
The WP team showed some promise from previous rounds. Disrespectful that the Bulls only included Morne from the URC team. I suppose the URC is settling in Cape Town for this weekend
I am hesitant to say anything about the WP / Stormers for fear that Oom will flounce again.Sards wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 5:35 am Yoh. Lions only 2 points. WP 8. These 2 sides obviously committed all their resources to the URC.
How kak was De Jong. There has to be a point when it's better to hang up your boots

To be honest this Saffa provincialism kak from certain posters has been part of this and the previous board for as long as I can remember. It's really beginning to wear on me as well. It's like those certain posters never grew up and are still in the toddler mindset of "my pa se piel is grooter as joune sin"
Sards cannot go two posts without mentioning the Stormers and oom cant help reciprocating. It's like someone who goes out everyday and beats his dog with a stick and then one day his dog bites his kid because he picked up a stick while playing in the garden.
I get it, it's hard to be a supporter of a team when not living in that province. I mean I'm a Cheetah fan living deep in Bulls country. I have family and friends that are all Bulls and I always get an earful when we lose to them. I also have some family that are Lions supporters but they have a more sympathetic hand with the salt. it's all a bit light-hearted though.
The kak on here is just on a completely deferent level though and is all getting a bit out of hand if you ask me. It's brought me to a place where I've decided to start calling people on this and making their names gat in a hope that they would stop or just fokof somewhere ells. But with Sards it doesn't help, no matter how much you call him out and how kak he looks he just keeps on bulldozing. It's tested my resolve and I'm now wondering if it's worth my effort or should I rather just fokof myself.

Look it was a much better performance from WP....I expected a real hiding. So that is really good news. The Bulls looked very out of shape.Chilli wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 5:40 amI am hesitant to say anything about the WP / Stormers for fear that Oom will flounce again.Sards wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 5:35 am Yoh. Nah, you can carry on stinking this place up for the rest. I've had enough and have better things to do with my time to read your kak. If that makes me "fragile" then so be it.

Putting them on igore actually makes the bored quite pleasant.
If more people did that or at least stopped quoting them, they would have zero impact on the bored.
The 3 usually post and a circle jerk and just chat with each other anyway trying to wind each other up.

I've never "put" someone on ignore. I've ignored them and just pretended that they don't exist and I'm pretty good at it.Blake wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 10:16 am

Thing is, the petty little childlike trolling can easily be ignored but this recent theme of Sards that refs are bought just reinforces a false perception about our rugby. Call them incompetent, bad, blind, kak sleg, whatever you want but claiming that they are bought is outside the bounds of acceptable behaviour.
He has no proof besides this misperceive fabrication of his. Perhaps it is because he cant understand why his team struggles against the Stormers, a team he clearly loathes, and have run out of excuses. Or it's most probably just a windup but he's creating an impression outside his targeted audience that makes us all look bad.
It's just a useful tool.average joe wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 12:38 pm I've never "put" someone on ignore. I've ignored them and just pretended that they don't exist and I'm pretty good at it.
It collapses their posts so the posts don't get displayed on the thread which makes it easier to follow the interesting conversations between the shit posting.
I dunno, I find it super helpful to be able to just focus in the constructive posts while I'm on here.
Each to their own.
Oh it's definitely a windup, but I agree.average joe wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 12:38 pmOr it's most probably just a windup but he's creating an impression outside his targeted audience that makes us all look bad.
The frustration for me is that the trolling is just so clumsy and hamfisted that they are an eyesore and ruin the "mood" of the bored.
There have been some very clever and funny trolls over the two forums over the years and they can be very entertaining, but Sards just isn't one of them.
He is just persistent.
I've always enjoyed these forums because they had a clubhouse / pub feel about them.
Lots of people from various backgrounds with different opinions and skills and passions just having a kuier.
Unfortunately Sards has decided to adopt the persona of the poes who keeps "pranking" people and then uses "it's just a joke" defense.
Nobody likes that guy.

The Sards poes persona would not have lasted in the pubs I went to when I was younger. In some he would have had his teeth kicked in and/or the owner would have barred him. Neither seems to be forthcoming here.Blake wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 1:05 pm

He's gotten temporary bans from time time time. Wears them like a badge of honor.average joe wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 1:26 pmThe Sards poes persona would not have lasted in the pubs I went to when I was younger. Like that guy that gets bounced for being an annoying poes, but it's not like he started a fight or molested a lady, so when he shows up again 2 weeks later he gets another chance.

It most likely would have been a card, that is if he made contact with the person, cannot see clearly if he actually made contact. That is the incident that the TMO was searching for, after the 1 try was scored. Took about 5 minutes of going through different angles but they did not find a clear view. Afterwards the ref said that they know there was something but because they could not find a view there was nothing they could do. As it was not clearly seen by ref or the assistants. But yes Bismarck seems to be a bit cranky in his old age, might be time to go back to the farm and relax or take up some yoga

The WP no.6 or 8 was in the ref's ear all night, he played quite well but he did get a bit irritating at the end. Was a bit like Biggar from Wales, constant complaining.

Xaba nr6 is WP captain. He is suppose to be in the refs ear.Think Bismarck was vokken lucky. A red card could changed the game. WP played well for a change.

Yeah but he was constantly in the ear, complaining etc. when a penalty decision goes against them. Was just a bit much, thats why I say he was a bit like Biggar, andf that guy complains constantly. But apart from that he had a great game I thought... was very good over the ball all evening.OomStruisbaai wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 4:12 pm Xaba nr6 is WP captain. He should be at least on the Stormers bench.

"The Currie Cup Premier Division match between the Sharks and the Bulls, scheduled to take place in Durban on Saturday afternoon, has been cancelled.
Due to the heavy flooding in KwaZulu-Natal and the considerable loss of life and infrastructure damage across the province, and out of respect to their community in the face of the disaster the province is enduring, the two teams have agreed to cancel this encounter.
As there was no alternative option to reschedule the match, the result will be declared a draw and the log points will be shared, with each team awarded two log points."

Two matches this week.
Thursday Lions vs Kwaste
Big game Friday
Vrystaat vs WeePee.
I have a feeling the underdog home teams will win it.
