Trying to think of a definitive list for this. Obviously we have Munster v ST a couple of weeks back. Prem Cup was decided on try count recently?
........Martyn Williams missed a sitter for Cardiff!Brazil wrote: Fri May 20, 2022 9:08 am Leicester-Cardiff (??) in the Heineken Cup way way back in the mists of time. Jordan Crane (remember him?) kicked the winner in sudden death.
The classic example is Leicester V Cardiff in the Heineken Cup semi final in 2009. I think this was also the first time a match had been decided by penalty kicks. Unlike the recent Munster ST competition, in 2009, all kicks were taken from the same spot, on the 22 directly in front of the posts.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Fri May 20, 2022 8:30 am Trying to think of a definitive list for this. The teams were tied after extra time, and also after the first five penalty kicks had been taken (4-4). This resulted in a sudden death scenario for the remaining penalty kicks, with the added bonus that, by this time both teams had used up all their experienced kickers.
Both teams were landed their next two kicks. For their eighth kick Cardiff had to select a forward having used all their backs for the 1st seven kicks. Martyn Williams was chosen, and he missed with one of the worst penalty kicks ever. Leicester's No 8, Jordan Crane, took Leicester's 8th kick and won the match for Leicester. In the interviews afterwards, it emerged that Crane would often practice taking penalty kicks for a laugh at the end of training sessions. Consequently, he was actually pretty good at taking kicks, and indeed, his winning penalty was very good.
The kicks can be seen on Youtube (Martyn Williams' comedy kick is at about 9:30)

Seems a little strange considering he kicked a drop goal successfully in RWC game, but I guess the pressure told in the shoot-out.
Took our U12's to London Irish U12's 7 festival.
In the semi-finals it went to penalties. We got beat after about 8 successful kicks from each team.
Our lads were gutted. We of course thought it unfair, especially at that age group.
Dayglo was there and could not beleive what he had seen. Gave all of our lads a handshake and thanked them. He was not happy about a game for that age group being settled that way ..... we had come from Inverness and we said we should have gone through due to distance travelled !!

Our U14's drew their County Plate final after extra time 2 weeks ago. The teams agreed to share it.

Cheers Braz/Lobby. I could not recall whom Leicester played in that one.

It really was. In front of the posts from 5m, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30. Then back to 5m again. Remember at U12 there are no conversion/penalty kicks so kicking at goal was something never practiced. And these were 12 year old lads.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Fri May 20, 2022 11:46 am8 successful kick each is extraordinary.vball wrote: Fri May 20, 2022 9:29 am Took our U12's to London Irish U12's 7 festival.

I was at that game, it was a really tense experience, even if it is a crap way to decide the winnerBrazil wrote: Fri May 20, 2022 9:08 am Leicester-Cardiff (??) in the Heineken Cup way way back in the mists of time. Jordan Crane (remember him?) kicked the winner in sudden death.

Looks like it really is only those 2 then at senior level. Just wondered if I'd missed any.
