I get pork at 35.50 per KG. Before lock-down a friend asked me why was I always braaing pork if I'm not such a huge fan of pork? I said that at that price you just have to eat it.handyman wrote: Thu Jul 02, 2020 7:46 am Our Spar has fillet at R 119.99 for the week. Yes, I know, not the most flavour, but I enjoy it.
Any good fillet recipes?

I bought rolled and spiced pork belly from Continental Butchery. It looks fucking amazing. Fire is lit. Will braai it in a bit.
I get free range pork at R 50/kg, that's loin, neck, belly etc. For that price, I eat a lot of pork as well, but I do like it.average joe wrote: Thu Jul 02, 2020 8:52 amI get pork at 35.50 per KG. In my personal experience, I have not seen a better butchery than Van Rensburg Foods in George.Big Nipper wrote: Thu Jul 02, 2020 8:53 amContinental is bloody awesomeChilli wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2020 5:31 pm It is cold and windy innie Baai in.

Shamefully so. They can list the various burgers in terms of preference...
Rocomama's being the current number one with Jerry's at 3 , Steers at 4 , Cattlebarons at 5 etc......
Mom is at number 2 currently

Oh my word...as if there is not one of you that has fed your children takeaway burgers.....
Its the same as hot dogs...I refuse to let my kids eat those coloured articial shit dogs ....they have never tasted them.
They mainly have German sausages. Or russians....in the same vein i stay away from Macdonalds , or Burgerking unless there is absolutely no other option.
only reason I am burgered out is because of all the testing we have done...I look like a burger.

yup.......agree completely....the chips are the killers
Sandstorm wrote: Thu Jul 02, 2020 11:07 am Beef burgers are better for your kids than Russians! Those things are (delicious) fat bombs.
yum yum yum.....but proper Russians. not that mass produced shite . I just look for the German ones because you know you cannot go wrong.
Would rather spit it out if I buy from a Babi shop and its kak. And it must be smeared in chilli sauce with onions.....no compromise...if you are going to eat unhealthy at least enjoy it. It must almost be a chorico....
A burger itself is pretty ok on the health risk, meat, cheese & salad...........the bead and chips is what kills you.Big Nipper wrote: Thu Jul 02, 2020 10:16 amFokkit I don't usually agree with you but spot on. At one stage the Germans knew how to cut a Russian to size.Sards wrote: Thu Jul 02, 2020 11:59 amSandstorm wrote: Thu Jul 02, 2020 11:07 am Beef burgers are better for your kids than Russians! Those things are (delicious) fat bombs.

Up to a point...
Perfect braai weather in PE.
I marinated pork chops in:
tomato sauce, sweet chilli, honey, braai spice, red wine vinegar, fish sauce, soy sauce, fresh garlic, chopped chilli and grated ginger.
Lekker sweet/ sharp and sticky.

Share the video with Chilli and my first effort. Basically braai the block of mince first, then add the tamato, onions and cheese after the mince have been done, then you put both the buns (square type like roosterkoek or pitta bread) on the outside and finish it slow to melt the cheese and get the onions done.
If the kids dont like onions and tomato , then you dont add it.

Chilli, I bought a lamb roll from Continental yesterday - what would be the best way to prepare it? straight on hot coals to sear and then in Weber for a while?

Not because it's bad but because the dogs deserve it more than you.

I think that Merino has better meat, but Continental has better offerings.
