Who would have thought there would be a chance that both the Sharks and WP might miss the semis. Has that ever happened in the history of Curie Cup?
It seems that the Cheetahs are having a dip in form at the wrong end of the competition, so I might have a few more games this season to go watch at Loftus

The Sharks, WP and Lions played with their young players. Bulls use their URC players mostly.

Though they tend to use the URC squad players that are not involved in the URC game that week, or if they are on the URC bench then they only play part of the CC game as they only do about 25 minutes in the URC game off the bench, so basically giving everyone a certain amount of play time. They had to play a few more as there are currently about 6 backs on big injuries and a few forwards as well. But so far it seems the balancing act is working for them so that players did not get to rusty during the interrupted periods where there were a few weeks between games. The Bulls do not have as many big 1st team star players like the Sharks and Stormers, but they do seem to have bigger depth in decent players that can do the job for them most of the time.OomStruisbaai wrote: Fri Jun 03, 2022 9:34 pm The Sharks, WP and Lions played with their young players. But still to not have WP, Lions and possibly Sharks make the semis in 1 season is a tough one.

Well Jake have it spot on. Forward thinking, next year the URC teams won't have the luxury of the gaps between matches.bok_viking wrote: Fri Jun 03, 2022 11:00 pmThough they tend to use the URC squad players that are not involved in the URC game that week, or if they are on the URC bench then they only play part of the CC game as they only do about 25 minutes in the URC game off the bench, so basically giving everyone a certain amount of play time. The $harks are only recent "contenders" in the CC.bok_viking wrote: Fri Jun 03, 2022 9:27 pm Who would have thought there would be a chance that both the Sharks and WP might miss the semis. Has that ever happened in the history of Curie Cup?

I am backing the Cheetahs from the start. They have achieved playing in the Challenge Cup. Would be nice if Kwaste and Pumas can join them.

Sards complaining about refs helping WP. Last week that stupid ref gave the game to Griquas which left the Sharks in this kak situation.
Look like the Griffins will get promoted to the CC premium division.

Sharks gone. There is a lack of hunger and passion. Never look like they want to win tonight.
If the Bulls win tonight the team ending 4th will be happy next week.

Pumas putting the Griquas to the sword in the last 10 minutes of that 1st Half. When they cut out their ill discipline they look really good, like to run from everywhere. To bad they are losing 5 players so far to URC teams next season. Griquas will lose a couple as well it sounds like.

And as I mention ill discipline tge Pumas start the 2nd half with a string of penalties to undo their first half

Unless they can get a big gun coach to replace Everitt there isn't really a point canning him at this stage. Jimmy Stonehouse might be a good idea but I really feel we need someone from the big leagues in NH. Everitt has a similar background to Dobson, coming up through the ranks as assistant coach and CC coach. Dobson also struggled and has only just clicked with the team this year. I am perplexed at his decision to persist with Curwin though. If he's being pressured by the DOR or board to do so then its clear why he's underperforming.Sards wrote: Fri Jun 10, 2022 3:10 pm Don't think Etienne Finn is going to survive this season
And Everett has also reached his due date.
It's economics. No support because of performance. No salary.

Congrats Griquas, but the Pumas threw this away with ill discipline. Nice game to watch though.
