On current showing Scotland and Georgia will be scrapping for 4th place in Pool B, and the honour of then playing England in the wooden spoon play off match.ASMO wrote: Sat Jun 25, 2022 4:56 pm Scotland are very England'esque in their performance and ability.

They look much stronger then the Bokkies.EnergiseR2 wrote: Sat Jun 25, 2022 6:15 pmFor what it is worth Ireland are missing a lash of players so it actually went alright really
The score didnt reflect the gulf in class between the teams. France 3 disallowed tries, 2 yellow cards and still won with something to spare.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sat Jun 25, 2022 6:28 pmThey look much stronger then the Bokkies.EnergiseR2 wrote: Sat Jun 25, 2022 6:15 pmFor what it is worth Ireland are missing a lash of players so it actually went alright really

I've had it up to here with these clueless commentators and their "strong Georgian scrum" BS... You're a decade late mate we shifted from scrum to backs about ten years ago ffs. And it's every commentator on Georgia games, that's literally one thing they know about Georgia and it's fucking wrong.
France are missing some too so i dont see how it is an impact for Ireland but not for them. Le Garrec for example is a huge loss for them.EnergiseR2 wrote: Sat Jun 25, 2022 6:46 pmYou'd only be worried if one or two missing. Up to 5 first choice are missing so not a fair reflection.ASMO wrote: Sat Jun 25, 2022 6:31 pmThe score didnt reflect the gulf in class between the teams. Was that a conscious change or just happened with what was coming through?FullbackAce wrote: Sat Jun 25, 2022 6:51 pm I've had it up to here with these clueless commentators and their "strong Georgian scrum" BS... It was a poor tackle, but he did clearly have his arms wrapped. Worse than the tackle was the Georgian 6 jumping on top of his own player when he was in such a vulnerable position!ASMO wrote: Sat Jun 25, 2022 7:37 pm I am ok with that tackle, he never lifted him, it was his momentum that flipped him over, nothing more. Commentator showing his ignorance of the game.

After the 2011 RWC, our youth system was overhauled with a new focus on mobility and backs. As a result, coaches stopped looking for monsters like Zirakashvili and started scouting for more mobile kids. If you talk to the older generation Georgian scrummagers lots of them were poached from other sports as kids, Gorgodze was stolen from a youth basketball side. Basically back in the day if coaches heard that there was a kid somewhere who could be fit for rugby they would go and do everything to get them. That is no longer the case, instead, they make do with what they get. As a result, we haven't raised a lock in a decade literally anyone over 1.95 is in basketball and all the potential monster scrummagers are in wrestling or weightlifting.Slick wrote: Sat Jun 25, 2022 7:30 pmWas that a conscious change or just happened with what was coming through?FullbackAce wrote: Sat Jun 25, 2022 6:51 pm I've had it up to here with these clueless commentators and their "strong Georgian scrum" BS... WR should be throwing money and resources at Georgian rugby

Thank you for this

I have been able to see the replay thanks to you. I had seen the 6N game when French lack of discipline and Irish maul meant Ireland came on top.
We have improved our maul defense though it isn't yet perfect. But discipline is still a nightmare. 2 yellow cards and God knows how many penalties when we were head and shoulders above Ireland is unacceptable.
Our backs were already good during the 6N but I find that they are even better. Their combination of speed, skills and vision is lethal. Lovely.
