Bosch Legacy ok. Not as good as previous seasons, think it loses something without J Edgar as his partner, but still worth a watch.
So it's based on The Wrong Side of Goodbye (Book 19), only up to Book 15 so far...

In the books, J Edgar is only the partner of Bosch for a short time and he gets through a whole load of partners whom he either pisses off in various ways or they move on. I guess for the first set of seasons they thought the audience would prefer to see a relationship with just the one partner than chopping and changing. Bosch also works in a number of different offices, not just North Hollywood Homicide but again keeping the same base was likely a production decision.

Talking of J Edgar, 4 episodes into We Own This City is. Assuming it's accurate enough it's fucking mind boggling. Will have to get through book.

Our Falklands War was a very emotional watch. Definitely one to watch if you've an interest in the conflict.
Stranger Things has been consistently excellent. Season 4 so far has just been great. I see Kate Bush's Running up that Hill is back to no.1 after 41 years. Lots of eighties tunes in my house right now. My younger daughter is a Stranger Things fan. We have lots of Kate Bush and Pass the Dutchie to the Lefthand side playing.

Ah ok. I suppose I'm the case in point there. Are the books worth reading? I assume so if you're 15 deep

Yes, not all of the books have been adapted for TV although they sometimes take smaller parts of a story and incorporate it into the main one for TV. The first couple of books the author is still trying to settle into a style and overdoes the 'Noir' thing a bit but gets better and they are pretty good reads as you get to see how Bosch is thinking his detective work.

I watched the first 2episodes yesterday, good show, it’s like Old Jason Bourne,

I recommend “ the Offer “ it’s about the making of The Godfather, it’s a show not a documentary.
I saw that. Looks interesting.

The reboot of Frasier is, well, adopting a slightly different tone….

And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

Has anyone watched Severance? I'm 2 episodes in, but can't decide whether to stick with it for 7 more episodes or bail...

That is fantastic!

The original is repeated constantly here in Oz - I watch it most evenings.

Paramount plus seems to have just launched in the UK

Anything on there worth watching?

Yellowstone S3 is on there.
Halo? Any good?
Anything else?

Seems to be loads of Star Trek on there but I’ve not really been a trekky, unless of course there is an outstanding film on there.

The new Star Trek was ok, some new (to me anyway) characters, but I suppose it was really just the same format.

Not got round to Halo yet. I notice there's only 3 ep up, assuming they're being released on a weekly basis?

Yep, looks like every Wednesday.

I’ve signed up, but will likely ditch after a month, there’s not a lot of unique content there

Can't justify another subscription. Might just use the week free after a few full series are available and binge.

I enjoyed Obi-Wan Kenobi tremendously. The final duel was great, and its payoff was pretty emotionally raw for anyone who is more than vaguely invested in the characters.

Sherwood, BBC Iplayer, it's really good though probably appeals more to those who remember the strike

We Own This City is a good follow up to The Wire, and it's fun spotting actors who have appeared in both, some swapping sides

Enjoyed 1st season, 2nd season I struggled through. I'll probably watch season 3 when I've exhausted everything else. If it wasn't for the weird German character I'd probably not have stuck with it.

I watched the first episode. Which was good but I am now having to re-watch the last couple of the last series as there a number of instances where I was not sure if I'd misremembered things, or if they were following a storyline that jarred with the past.

BTW, great product placement by Land Rover.

Finished it last night. Bit uneven in places but overall well worth a watch.

Better than season 2 IMO.

Going to watch a bit of Terminal List (Amazon prime).

Hopefully it proves worth a watch.

The Boys episode 7 has altogether too many Yanks doing terrible approximations of cockney accents. Having Karl Urban do his is just about ok, but we really didn't need anyone joining in with his laughable efforts.

First 2 episodes were decent. Not sure how it compares to the book but started listening to the recent Joe Rogan podcast with Jack Carr and he seemed chuffed with the production.

Quite a few veterans got wee roles in it too which appeals to me.

I did go back and rewatch the last two episodes again. And it turns out my recollection was adequate and a lot of what went on in season 4 episode 1 is surprising given where the last series ended. Still, filling in some of the 7 year gap may clarify.

Season 3 did get a bit 'too clever by half' in the end. Still, I was quite pleased to see season 4 started and watched it as soon as I realised it was on.

Stranger Things probably could have done with keeping some secrets in the locker but it was a decent finale to the season. Expect Metallica to get to no 1 now.

If it takes Stranger Things to introduce Gen Z to rock and metal I'll take it.

Serial killer/prison drama/detective series. I'm on episode 3 and its the best thing I've seen for a while. Taron Egerton, Greg Kinnear and Ray Liotta in it.
