it is quite hillarious that the 2 teams of the final barely have any presentation in the Champions team playing this weekend.

Yeah so the small unions will never stand a chance unfortunately with much smaller fan bases. My neighbour works for the SAB media team so he is very involved with this match. Doing all the social media related to it.OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Jun 27, 2022 12:31 pmWell what did you expect? I like the idea of a fan selected team of players that did not get called up to the Springbok team. But unfortunately the flaw in such a system is that teams with the most fans get the most players in the team even if some of those players do not necessarily deserve to be there, like we see with the current team. Fans will always do bias selections. But it is nice to see something that tries to get the fans more involved.
To bad they did not play this game as a curtain raiser to the Bok game.

SA Rugby U19 action to resume after layoff
The SA Rugby Under-19 Cup is back after the COVID pandemic disrupted the competition over the last few seasons. This year, the Vodacom Bulls, Toyota Cheetahs, DHL Western Province and Cell C Sharks U19s will battle it out for honours over a single round of matches from 29 October until 12 November.
The Vodacom Bulls U19s won the title when the tournament was staged in 2019, the last time it took place. In the 2022 edition of the tournament, only four teams will feature following the withdrawal of Eastern Province, the Leopards and Lions.
Junior Springbok head coach Bafana Nhleko has welcomed the news of the recommencement of U19 provincial action.
“The resumption of the national U19 competition is further great news for our young provincial rugby players, who were especially hard hit by the damage caused by the pandemic,” said Nhleko.
“The reopening of schools rugby, the staging of the SA Rugby Youth Weeks, as well as the SA Schools and SA Under-18 international fixtures earlier this year have all presented our talented young rugby players with wonderful opportunities to play the game once more on a regular basis.
“Furthermore, the addition of a competitive U19 provincial competition will no doubt assist with the early development of our next generation of rugby players, and it bodes well for us with the World Rugby U20 Championship back on the calendar next year,” added the Junior Bok coach.
Viewing things from a more strategic level, Nhleko added: “The Rugby Department (at SA Rugby) and Junior Springbok coaches will be keeping a keen eye on U19 proceedings, especially with next year's intake for SA Rugby Academy programme and the resumption of the World Rugby U20 Championship in mind.”
The opening round of the SA Rugby U19 Cup on 29 October features the Cell C Sharks against the Toyota Cheetahs in Durban, while DHL Western Province host the Vodacom Bulls the same day in Cape Town.
The following Saturday, 5 November, sees the Vodacom Bulls take on the Toyota Cheetahs in Pretoria, and DHL WP welcome the Cell C Sharks to Cape town for their round-two fixture.
The final round of fixtures is scheduled for Saturday, 12 November when the Toyota Cheetahs are at home to DHL WP in Bloemfontein, and the Vodacom Bulls travel to Durban to face the Cell C Sharks.
Following completion of the three rounds, the team who collected the most log points during on the league will be crowned as 2022 SA U19 Cup champions.

Look like the CC will be run after the urc and before the WC tournament. Springboks won't be available because of camps but no TRC by the looks.

Dobson will coach WP
“We have to manage the squad,” he said, adding: “It is the same squad.
“We are really making plans for the Currie Cup.
“It is our responsibility.”
He used players like Alistar Vermaak, Leon Lyons and Kwenzo Blose as examples of squad members who are not getting much game time in the URC and Champions Cup, and who they should manage.
“It makes for a longer season, but I think it is the right thing for us to do,” Dobson added.
