Marchant is the nearest we have to any pace in the backs.sockwithaticket wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:06 amMarchant seems to be playing on the wing despite shirt number and it's made it to him there plenty. In true England fashion he had very little time or space when it did get there and so he's mainly just had to get tackled and recycle.ASMO wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:02 am Absolutely turgid shit by England, has the ball actually made it down the line to the wings?
We're using Coka as a floating carrying option.sockwithaticket wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:06 amMarchant seems to be playing on the wing despite shirt number and it's made it to him there plenty. Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Head to head is ALWAYS going to be red FFS. The only debate is whether Hill should have perma gone too.Kawazaki wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:00 am
That was just two locks exchanging alpha vibes, no malice, no danger. Two yellows at most but mostly just needs a word from the ref to not be twats.

Steward is untouchable under a high ball but he's slower than most intl backrowers.Dinsdale Piranha wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:08 am

Itoje gives away another dim pen. A trait that blighted his game for so long and thought he'd ironed out.

England to lose it from here.
Hanging around in the backs as usual as I am sure SA and NZ and Ireland and France are observing.

When you have good open field runners like Ollivon, Macalou etc, I can see some reasoning for that. Esp if you are on top. But none of Eng's starting backrow is a Magne, for example.

The only way Eng looked like scoring a try.

With that level of kicking accuracy, not sure what Farrell is adding to this Eng team. May as well let Smith take the dead ball stuff.

Yeah, that worked well against the Barbarians.
Marcus Smith has been terrible in this match so far.
Cant see much wrong apart from maybe the misstimed pass in 1st half. Defence been good and kicked well.Kawazaki wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:26 amTorquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:25 am With that level of kicking accuracy, not sure what Farrell is adding to this Eng team. Englands tactics aren’t helping: get ball, 2 forwards drives to allow aus defence to settle. Give to backs.

That doesn't really counter my point though, does it? Farrell missing too much. Smith missing too much. But Farrell's only real contribution is pen kicking reliability (like Jaminet for France). If either player drops away from that, they have little else to offer.Kawazaki wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:26 amYeah, that worked well against the Barbarians.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:25 am With that level of kicking accuracy, not sure what Farrell is adding to this Eng team. If you are suggesting Farrell at 10

Vunipola now playing on the wing. FM, clueless stuff in attack.
He has been at 10 for half the plays.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:30 amThat doesn't really counter my point though, does it? Farrell missing too much. Smith missing too much. Farrell's a better 10 than 12 so why not?
You clearly don't rate Farrell but then you're an idiot so we have to make allowances.

Itoje's presence at that ruck constituted illegally flopping over his own player and contributing zero to securing the ball.

It's just Toga's typical overreaction to anyone saying something against a Saracens player. Goes double for the sainted Owen Farrell.PCPhil wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:29 amCant see much wrong apart from maybe the misstimed pass in 1st half. Well, you finally got to understanding and conceding my original point. Farrell is a sh*tehouse 10 and if you think he's better there than 12, then his only place is not on the field at all.Kawazaki wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:32 am Farrell's a better 10 than 12 so why not?

Agree. Should have been 2 reds.fishfoodie wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 10:52 amYep,should be both gone; but the officials fucked it up by not dealing with it at the previous incident, & Hill should now be cited for the earlier shitYmx wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 10:50 am Fuck me, that’s bad justice.
England benefitted massively from that antagonistic behaviour

Smith is easily having his worst England match. I don't think he should be subbed though because he's a very good player.
I wasn’t aware he was biased towards SaracenS players?sockwithaticket wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:33 amIt's just Toga's typical overreaction to anyone saying something against a Saracens player. If Itoje spent more time practising handling than clapping like a demented monkey.........

That I might go with, but he's certainly not been terrible. That's hyperbolic and what I mean by an overreaction.Kawazaki wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:35 amsockwithaticket wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:33 amIt's just Toga's typical overreaction to anyone saying something against a Saracens player.
