Just been reading some of Jones's post-match comments regards the referee evening things up in Australia's favour after the red card.

This fraud should be sacked immediately. He's a stain on the game.

England head coach should be far more alarmed by his side’s habitual tendency to crumble in the last 20 minutes. This year, they have lost the final quarter in six of their seven matches, only beating Italy 7-0.

.... England had registered only one try in nearly 140 minutes of play during this critical period. The aggregate final-quarter score in 2022 currently reads 23-97, which is a total you would typically associate with a developing nation unable to keep pace with an established country’s greater fitness and resources.

This statistic is even more concerning than the 11 tries that England have scored in six Tests (five of which were against Italy) or four away wins since the World Cup (two in Rome).

I've said it before, Jones is truly world class at managing up. He's bedded himself into the RFU with the highest coach salary in world rugby, he lives in a 5* hotel, he gets to openly do consultancy work on the side, he literally writes his own performance reviews and he's so intertwined with the CEO that sacking him would be impossible without also sacking the CEO. He's a genius at looking out for Eddie Jones.

Jones says he has “had enough” of the game’s increasingly stop-start nature and that top-level talks need to be convened before this autumn’s Tests in Europe.

England’s head coach, who has also cast doubt over the merit of the proposed “Nations League” concept that is poised to replace traditional tours, is concerned the essence of rugby is being lost in the welter of yellow and red cards, overzealous officiating, TMO referrals and set-piece delays that routinely interrupt the flow of the modern game.

The issues have been further highlighted in Australia by Wednesday’s classic, fast-paced State of Origin rugby league decider, which contrasted sharply with, for example, last Saturday’s New Zealand v Ireland game in Dunedin. There were so many stoppages, sanctions and arcane law interpretations that Jones and many others felt it was a worrying advertisement for the sport.

“I don’t want to see a New Zealand-Ireland game like that ever again,” said Jones. “Otherwise imagine at the next World Cup … you play a quarter-final, you get a red card and two yellows, you’re down to 12 men and it’s just ridiculous. The referees are being put under pressure here. We can’t blame them.

“I’ve been speaking to a few ex-coaches. The referees, coaches and players need to get together and say ‘This is the game we want. This is the game people want to see.’ I’m certainly going to be pushing for it because I’ve had enough.”

If the refs enforce the rules correctly in both hemispheres, the players will learn that they mean something and adapt. Weise is a great example of someone who has clearly adapted after getting it repeatedly wrong before.

Eddie is an utter cunt and his attitude towards player safety is atrocious. I'm sure there's no coincidence that his England squad drop like flies in training.

It's absurd that a man of his profile in the sport is undermining things to this extent. I'm aghast that it's the England coach doing this. The fact that he's essentially lied about the incident in question is just the shit icing on the dirt cake.
