Willie le Roux biggest asset will be his rugby knowledge. He and Dawie Snyman, the Stormers backline coach come a long way since their Paul Roos connections.
The Stormers current playstyle will transform him as it did with Libbok.

I am not sure what happened to Kade Wolhuter. Look like he won't be the same after being injured. He will be another 15/12/10 player.

No ways he can play 12 which in todays game takes more hits and heavy carries than almost any other. He'll be destroyed.OomStruisbaai wrote: Tue Jun 21, 2022 6:46 am I am not sure what happened to Kade Wolhuter. Look like he won't be the same after being injured. He will be another 15/12/10 player.

Not the Stormers. But I see Ruan Smith is coming to the Lions. Played in Australia since 2013 but hasn't had much game time in the last 2 years. 32 year old veteran tighthead to replace Carlu Sadie. Twin brother of JP Smith who is already at the Lions.

I know the Smith twins well. Was in my daughter's class. JP did well this year for the Lions, Ruan the only player playing for all the Aus franchises. He was always the better prop.

Ja JP didn't made Paarl Gimnasium 1st team. DDA would be an awesome signing for the Stormers but I doubt he's coming. Why do I feel like this is going to be a bit of a letdown signing. Like the time the press and twitter got excited about ex-Bok Jacques Potgieter being signed by the Cheetahs last year from Aus. Or Jacques du Plessis coming to the Bulls from Montpellier. Neither have played a game.

Also possible after losing Rikus Pretorius. Willemse can slot back to 15.

According to the Rapport, the Stormers are in talks to bring Cheslin Kolbe back to Cape Town from France.
The negotiations over his signature are reportedly considered to be at a sensitive stage, given that he only signed a three-year contract to join Toulon from Toulouse last year.

Deon Fourie signs another 2 years
WP rugby
WP rugby
Flank Deon Fourie, who reached 100 DHL Stormers caps in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship Grand Final, has signed a two-year contract extension.
Fourie has been a stand-out performer for the DHL Stormers since returning from France, playing a key role in the victorious Vodacom United Rugby Championship campaign and claiming the Vodacom Man of the Match award in the showpiece match at DHL Stadium.
He has also been included in the Springbok squad for the Castle Lager Incoming Series against Wales, completing a fairytale season for the hard-working loose forward.
DHL Stormers Head Coach John Dobson said he could not be more delighted for Fourie.
“What Deon has achieved this season has been nothing short of phenomenal, so we are very happy that he has extended his stay with us.
“He has been an inspirational figure for our team and has also played a key role in developing some of the young talent we have too, hopefully he will continue to go from strength to strength,” he said.
Fourie said that his second stint with the DHL Stormers has been incredibly rewarding and thanked his teammates, the support staff and the fans for helping him reach new heights.
“I am thrilled to extend my time with the DHL Stormers, what our team has achieved this season with the incredible support we have got has been special and I know there is even more ahead of us.
“My family and I couldn’t be happier to be in Cape Town and I want to show my gratitude through my performances on the pitch,” he said.

De Wet & Wolhuter
Both players are products of the Western Province Rugby junior system, having grown up in the region and come through the structures.
DHL Stormers Head Coach John Dobson said that having the likes of De Wet and Wolhuter commit for the next two years means that competition for places in the starting line-up will be fierce.
“Both Paul and Kade have already shown that they have a very high ceiling in terms of potential. Having the both of them in our system for the next two years means that we have quality halfback options ahead of what is going to be a very demanding campaign with our entry into the Heineken Champions Cup,” he said.
De Wet said that he is looking forward to building on his form that he showed for the DHL Stormers this season.
“I grew up supporting the DHL Stormers, so I really want to make the most of every opportunity I get to pull on that jersey. I am looking forward to developing my game further with the coaches and players around me here over the next two years,” he said.
Wolhuter said that he is focused on getting some consistent gametime under his belt and show what he is capable of in a DHL Stormers jersey.
“The last year has been a frustrating one injury-wise for me, but I am determined to repay the faith that has been shown in me by stepping up for the team over the next two years,” he said.

After watching our u20s winning the Summer Series in Italy I am more at ease with the Stormers and WP depth. 9 starts in that team with 2 already with URC experience there is no need to buy new players. All of them are under contract.

Good news
WP Rugby
WP Rugby
Seven Junior Springboks, including captain Sacha Mngomezulu, have signed contract extensions with Western Province Rugby.
Mngomezulu is joined by national U20 teammates props Lamla Nunu and Corne Weilbach, hooker Lukhanyo Vokozela, lock Connor Evans, loose forward Louw Nel and fullback Duran Koevort in signing extensions.
Fellow Junior Springbok players Imad Khan (scrumhalf), Suleiman Hartzenberg (centre) and Paul de Villiers (loose forward) are all on existing contracts in an exciting junior group.
Having made his DHL Stormers debut in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship play-offs, Mngomezulu then took the captaincy of the national U20 side, leading them on an unbeaten U20 Six Nations Summer Series campaign.
Evans also earned his first DHL Stormers cap this season, having performed regularly for DHL Western Province, while Nunu, Vokozela and Weilbach also featured for the senior side in the Carling Currie Cup this year.
These players also join the likes of DHL Western Province U20 captain and loose forward Armand Maritz, hooker Keagan Blanckenberg and fullback Luke Berger in signing extensions.
DHL Stormers Head Coach John Dobson said that retaining talent of this calibre is vital in building on the success that the DHL Stormers enjoyed in the inaugural Vodacom United Rugby Championship campaign.
“This region is a conveyor belt of rugby talent that is unmatched worldwide and it is fantastic to see so many of our promising young players commit their immediate futures here.
“We have already seen some of these players make the step-up to senior level and look forward to seeing all of them develop further within our system,” he said.

Pretty unfair calling him shit this early. He's still a rookie. The Bok coaches did a Gaffie on him.
I think this is an issue with a lot of players. Players are given such small opportunities to prove themselves, they'll be in the wilderness for most of the season and tainted.
And into the Springboks immediately to cover the costs of his salaryChilli wrote: Sun Aug 14, 2022 7:22 amDweeba probably hasn't even trained with the WP / Stormers let alone play for them and already he is shit.OomStruisbaai wrote: Tue May 24, 2022 11:10 amOfficial nowFalseBayFC wrote: Tue May 17, 2022 4:33 pm Dweba confirmed for Stormers.
