Pre round of 16 men's finished with no surprises, closest match saw Chile edge to a win over Germany. Round of 16 has some equal looking match ups

Women's tournament just started.
Madagascar looked decent for 90 seconds before being blown away by Australia, Poland currently putting up a fight against USA (17-7 to USA HT).
I really like the new straight knock-out format.

Women’s rugby is just wrong
What a vokkop. They closed off roads so you had to do detours to get to the parking and home. We parked at a friend's house 15 minutes walk from the stadium. What a relief. Other than that it was just so messy driving around town. Poor Gigi my Google maps guide. She had no clue how to get me to the Quarters

I'd say there is 30,000 which isn't that bad. Now let the real 7s start. Good to play against our URC broers.

Total lack of coverage in our media about this, even with the extreme lack of sports news due to cancellations. Not to be cynical but it might have been different if England hadn't been knocked out early...
Haven't been able to watch any of it but following the results.

A win for Madagascar, 19 - 12 over Colombia! Only gives them 15th place but must be very satisfying to post a win in your first finals especially as they were expected to be nowhere near qualifying even.
Hmm, Suzie?

Hong Kong suffered a second day of disappointment at the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens, losing a tight Bowl semi-final 14-5 to Uganda on Saturday evening – with head coach Paul John revealing several players have suffered from food poisoning in South Africa.
The 21st century is here, you should try it sometime

Midgets have done it
Backs out of the room slowly; this is not going to end well when the WOKE crowd discover it

That final was immense. I'm amazed how our Bok team have always been such big units, but our 7s team has always been quite small. Especially compared to some of those Argentina players.
We nearly threw it away in the 2nd half, but that was some seriously impressive defence. Let's hope they can do it in Cape Town next week.
And also, the women's rugby has really improved. I used to not bother watching it, but the standard is very high now. The hotpants help

My brawd Bach has been out there a few years and has spent the weekend drinking watching rugby and playing golf.

Well Monaco is hardly off rugby's beaten track either, perhaps geographically it made sense, but they were probably always going to struggle for attention with this.
Anyway, the pools are now decided https://www.world.rugby/news/938141/rug ... ns4wljauma..
