That is an example of why I don't want a 20min red card. It was a disgusting attempt to injure a player and blatantly deliberate. I don't care if it hurts his team if they are permanently down to 14. It would be that pricks fault.
There is something to be said about deliberate maiming of someone.

But I still prefer him being sent off for the match, no issues with another replacing him after 20.

He still gets sent off the field in disgrace for the rest of the match.

A double yellow card of punishment to the team.

He still gets cited, and will face his real punishment through a thorough examination. Let’s hope it’s longer than QT’s knee to recover.

It’s identical treatment for the player himself under both systems.

I don’t hold malice against the whole Aus team for his actions, and demand they lose.

Richard Lowe and Colin Meads send their regards.

The hypocrisy is quite something to see.....

Meads was in an entirely different era when rough play was part and parcel of the game. Loe was just an utter thug.

Years of PR and living in the country have pretty well convinced me the Aussies are by far, the biggest whinging hypocrites in the game.

Laws shouldn’t apply to them but woe betide any opposition player who they think, without knowing the Laws of the game, has infringed. Flat track bullies with the spine of jellyfish.

Boet honestly. Remember the BoD "I could have died" BiL moment.

The Kiwis and Aussies know the thug or thug defend arguments.

Rugby is a war between the lines and shite happens.

Yeah, I don’t really get his point.

My whole post was about advocating 20 minute red cards.

It’s like he is just being deliberately obtuse.

It's a bit weird for Saffers watching this from the sideline.

KL Arendse was just a few weeks back a murderer when the midget got it wrong going for a high ball.

SA very efficient but boring watching this. Have Argentina been on the red wine since the NZ win?

Decent first half from the Boks against a strong Pumas side. Some opportunities missed and a few mistakes, but nothing to get too critical about, the Bok machine is creating plenty of chances.

Pumas need to stop cheating, set their defencive line, and make their first up tackles.

Hendrikse, Willemse, Mapimpi all doing well. Mapimpi has hit a few rucks, cleared one completely, also did well filling in at 9 and getting the ball out quickly.

Yes, only if emotionally invested in either of the teams would you have had any enthusiasm for that first 40.

Will Argentina in the second half verify the decades-old David Campese observation that only in the final minutes or if way behind do teams grasp the mind-set that using the ball is the best way to accumulate rapid points?

Most try saving attempts are around the neck, and are almost always ignored.

Though I think it was for holding on and preventing the player from not given a chance to ground it in the end.

I mean it was harsh. Most tacklers try and prevent the player from grounding it. And hold on, and often around the neck to be honest. So it was an odd call on how it’s normally adjudicated.

True. They shouldn't be, though. However, I won't be holding my breath for this to be the watershed moment where refs start consistently enforcing it.

It is definitely annoying to be on the end of a call that, while technically correct, is rarely given.

Game of two halves. Good BMT from the Boks to remain calm when down to 13, Pumas scoring with the crowd behind them, and to still come back and score a BP win away from home against a strong Pumas side.

Great win. Boks show real character to pinch that bonus point. Hats off to Louw and Fourie poaching in the end.

I The last round is going to be a rat race for the trophy.

We need to find a 10 real quick.

Which one would you have sent?
Libbok. Most definitely. You must understand. Libbok has played at the Bulls, Sharks and Stormers. He knows everyone
So, you would be quite happy to fly in an uncapped player that has not been involved in the Bok camp at all during the RC or the Wales tests? A player whose form can be quite hot or cold on his day? In a must win game for the Boks?

Right... Nienaber and co must rather fly you in to Arg and start mining your obviously vast rugby intellect.

Is Willemse definitely out?
I guess he can still pass that second HIA thing, like Sexton did
He looked all right when he walked off
He certainly brings more energy to the backline but needs to improve his kicking if he wants to keep Pollard out in the future
