77/3 After 10

61 from 60 needed, Pakistan need wickets to stay in this.

Not sure why Livingstone hasn’t come in if Stokes is going to bat like this

He’d already been off before the catch, so that may have exacerbated an existing injury.

Get in.
Never bet against Ben Stokes, between him Root and Anderson we are in the presence of all time greats and I sometimes wonder if we appreciate it.

Never believed this was possible when I was waking up at 3am to watch us get knocked out by Bangladesh.

Have to give a shout out to Pakistan, they gave that everything

They probably needed another 15 runs to make it defensible, but they fought really hard until the end, and there were times in the middle overs when they looked really dangerous.

Feel a bit sorry for Pakistan, if not for the injury England might have been looking for 7 or 8 in that last over. England would probably still have won, but turned into a pretty good game.

England look like the dominant team in white ball cricket atm. Well done to them.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

Stokes is one jammy fucker tbf. It looked for a little while like a match-losing innings, but Afridi's injury gave him the opportunity that he just managed to take a few times. Fine margins. Still, the proof's in the pudding: against Sri Lanka his desire to be the main character turned a trivial chase into a very awkward one; here he turned an awkward chase into an ultimately straightforward one. Well done Stokes.

Much will be made of the injury but we didn't pick players because of injury doubts, and Pakistan knew he was struggling. Them's the breaks. It's unfortunate, and it affected the game, but given we were robbed of Bairstow and Topley pre-tournament, then lost two key players in Malan and Wood for final two matches, and weren't able to call up Jofra Archer, I'm not going to bother making any excuses.

Big Sam Curran's conversion into the world's best death bowler has been incredible. Glad he got player of the tournament.

Pakistan are the victims of their own stupidity (yet again). Despite the early wicket losses, they could have posted 150/60 by carrying on in the way they rebuilt the innings i.e. takings 2s and punishing the odd bad balls. Instead, they decided to try and play the formulaic T20 stuff as if Melbourne was Taunton and paid the price with a match losing collapse.
