Altrad owner Mohed Altrad has been given an 18 month suspended jail term for corruption involving the national rugby team, which has also brought down LaPorte who has suspended himself from WR activities...(he is the Vice Chairman in case you'd forgotten :lol: )...


aaaaaaand now NZR are 'reviewing' their involvement after signing a lucrative sponsorship deal with Altrad last year... while this case was developing. Fucking clumsy and inept from NZR and CEO Robinson who just collects fuck ups as a matter of course.

Meanwhile, Dentsu is being investigated for allegations of corruption related to RWC2019 (and the Tokyo Olympics as well).

“World Rugby notes the decision by World Rugby vice-chairman Bernard Laporte to self-suspend from all positions held within its governance structures with immediate effect following his conviction by the French court in relation to domestic matters, and pending his appeal,” read a statement. “While acknowledging Laporte’s self-suspension and right of appeal, given the serious nature of the verdict World Rugby’s executive committee has referred the matter to its independent ethics officer for review in accordance with its integrity code.”
