Cell C Sharks have said goodbye to six of their star players as they move from London to Edinburgh.

The Springboks go into their resting protocols from this week and it is understood that the likes of Siya Kolisi, who captains the Sharks in their Heineken Champions Cup campaign, Eben Etzebeth, Ox Nche and a few other Boks are heading back to Durban, with six replacements being flown out.

The Sharks were at full strength minus a few injured and suspended players (Bongi Mbonambi and Makazole Mapimpi) when they lost 39-29 to the Harlequins at The Stoop in London in the Champions Cup at the weekend. So they do have some correcting to do before they get to Edinburgh for a game that is important for them given their mid-table position on the URC log and the way they are lagging in the conference and battle for the South African Shield.

To top that, the Edinburgh game will be played on an artificial pitch at the DAM Health Stadium, which is troubling considering the Sharks looked a little beaten for tempo by the Harlequins
It will be Embra B v Sharks B to be fair as the Scottish internationalists will be away as well. It will however definitely be on an artificial pitch.

Look like the Irish sides will also without their internationals.

Know it's not ideal but the Springboks need their rest. Playing winter and summer non stop rugby.

If Edinburgh do not get a lot of injured players back, they will struggle in the backs. And i hate to think what will happen with the front row they will put out.

Which is a shame as ticket sales are going well.

I'm not too keen on the declarations of Team B or Team C to be honest.

We all know what the calendar looks like and the competition is club v club. Sometimes a club's depth is stretched due to injury or international duty/rest protocols and that is what it is.

Although I've quoted you and Oom, this post isn't really aimed at either, it's just a general thought.

It's fine to say we are a little understrength due to the above, but it will still be Edinburgh v Sharks fielding the strongest teams they have available so it's A team v A team, and both sets of players will be giving it their all.

I can see an Edinburgh team of
Venter, McBurney, Atalifo, Sykes, Young, Haining, Boyle, Mata,
Vellacott, Savala, Goosen, Lang, Bennett, Blain, Immelman
Harrison* Auterac, McCallum, Jamie Campbell, Muncaster, Pyrgos, Cammy Scott, Jaco

This is if we don't get anyone back from injury or Scotland duty. Hooker is the problem area, Rambo was carrying water on Sunday, maybe he'll be fit to play?

You'd think they would want Duhan and Mish to get a run out if they can.

Van Heerden rooted from Affies and played longer for the Bulls then the $hark$.

The Stormers poach him back from Exeter Chiefs not from the $hark$

Now who is out of the loop?

Bet you the Stormers will make a star out of him like Roos & Libbok.

Maybe I should make the effort...although if you cannot see it by now you really are out of the loop.

Since we ( Shark ) have taken partners to improve the Union as a whole, Us Sharkies have had to tolerate all kinds of shite from WP supporters, saying we are poaching all their players , that we may as well call ourselves the Stormers......that the Union has no loyalty because we buy mercanaries....etc. etc.

Finally........the worm has turned. The swing has come roundabout.....

Suck on it.

I know it's about 20 years late but welcome to the age of professionalism. Long gone are the days were people stick to one team out of loyalty to a province. It's a job now, you go where you get the best offer.

You all must remember Sards is a Shark living in the Cape. He gets abused on Vleisbroek by the nasty Stormers fans. Why he feels he needs to come on here and take it out on us is beyond me though.

100% correct.

The price of professionalism is player loyalty. I like the look of the current $harks team, but I must admit we lack a bit of identity with so few "local" players.

The Stormers will always have the strongest local look to their team. Unsurprisingly, given the school feeding their system.

Ja.....I really tried to show some interest....but its hard......being old and all.

Last night I was quoting a mate on some stuff he needs for his factory...we were going around in circles regarding the quantities , until he finally realised he had attached the wrong schedule....

How are you managing the heavy machinery in the workshop during loadshedding? It must be causing a bit of headache with your order book and lead times?

Its not an issue. I have a generator. When load shedding happens we divert the staff that operate the 3 phase machinery to other tasks....so plan for that.
We really had a good season. Managed to clear all my Covid debt. That literally took 2 years of sweat. This year hopefully we can make some money so we can go on more holidays.....and buy more knives

Petrol is not too bad. Yes it's an extra cost but material prices have dropped quite substantially. So its balancing out.

I learnt the hard way. No friends or family in business. Except my wife.

The generator petrol cost must be a fortune

Don't you have a job for me. I am really struggling
Petrol is not too bad. Yes it's an extra cost but material prices have dropped quite substantially. So its balancing out.

I learnt the hard way. No friends or family in business. Except my wife.

What happened to the sub contracting you were doing.
I am not your friend or family.

Never renewed my contract after lockdown.

If I work for you I can post here on your behalf.
