I am thinking a dagger next , or sickle.......I don't have a single dagger in my collection. Mainly because I want a ceremonial dagger and haven't seen the one I like...except maybe Merlins...I have semi precious jewels I bought in Namibia which I can have set in the handle. I am also keen for a druids sickle. Pagan inspired. The history is that every druid would have a sickle for collecting herbs etc. Assasins creed has some really sick looking sickles......but like my apocolyptic chopper it would require some details my smith is not comfortable with so I might end up finishing it myself again.

Personally I am not much into historical blades. I prefer collecting blades I create with my vision. Although most fantastical blades are adoptions of historical blades.

But that is a well made blade
I love how the guards hold the hand within the handle. That's not going to get lost going in or out

Got 2...one I made and another I bought from a shop....I didn't even use the shop bought one it and the tip rolled, had to grind it back to make it look presentable again....thats why I normally steer clear of mass produced blades

I have a lot of blades....enough to arm my neighbourhood, Mostly functional. I suppose when you get to that point you start looking at something different. I mean how many hunters , Kukri , chef or Camper blades can you actually own. ( the most used blades ) . And I don't do folders. I dont trust their strength.. The Apocolyptic was my first venture into fantastical. I prefer fantastical to fantasy. fantasy blades aren't really for use, more for show. All my blades can be used. And when I don't love them anymore I give them away as gifts........Guy friends love that kind of shit....I am giving away my Viking Boning knife......its just too big to keep in a kitchen drawer ...... but looks awesome if you use it when mates come around for a braai.....and IT WILL CUT.

It's not like you're going to be hacking trees and splitting stumps with it anyways. All you need is a neat small thing that can cut through packaging so you can get your prepacked steak on the fire.

They practice knife fighting. Supervised of course. With the big blades. Against each other although the eldest has a much longer reach.Then they do timed chop circuits. Blindfolded. They carry small hunters in their school bags.

Do the board Saffers remember the Okapi knives that used to hang with the pipes and stuff at the counter in corner tearooms? I bought one as a 13 year old and hid it. My mum found it and promptly confiscated it. My dad still has it 40 years later.

My dad gave me one as a kid. Still have it, still cuts. A bitch to sharpen but you have to really abuse it to lose the edge. I've skinned many an animal with mine but hardly use it anymore. Got a set of skinning knifes as a gift and was told it's rude if I don't use them. Was also told that it was old and outdated and was given something newer to use as a daily carry.

It's in my bedside drawer, I will get it out now and then to cut biltong or something but if seen, the stares I get could kill a village.

I got a Swiss Army knife for my birthday after they took away my Okapi. Wasn't quite the same. I lose pocket knives so just buy cheap Opinels now. Fishing, butchering and skinning I have Morakniv Swedish blades. Good value.

Back in the day they were sold in corner cafe's and bottle stores. They were a cheap knife that the young black workers navigating the pass laws could dispose of in the white suburbs while running from the kerels.

Mine says made in Germany, I believe the ones you get in shops now are made in SA. The wife gave me a Kershaw as a Father's Day gift one year as an edc. The Mossy Oak field dressing kit was also a gift, but I have to admit I don't use everything in it.

New knives

Got these 2 on auction. Kershaw knives. I do not have a single EDC folder. Loved the Klipdrift folder but felt a need to own the Browning, too. Love the handle. Have no clue how strong they are. Kershaw is a decent brand. Hoping the mechanism is top notch with a bearing. Will need to wait for them to arrive. Not sure which will be my EDC , but the klipdrift will look cool in my bar

Have my eye on a dagger and pen set my Smith is putting together for a knife show.
Going to have to get there early. I have to own it.

This EDC I have had my eyes on for months. Love the pouch. Hamon effect on the Damascus blade. Rosewood handle. A lanyard which is going to get one of the last pic.

SS skull beads. Going onto the lanyard of 2 of my knives. My Zombie chopper. Still haven't got a name for it. Waiting to pimp it up with beads etc. and then see how I feel. And another bead for the EDC I am going to get soon.

Love the pirate skull beads. I managed to find some alien skull beads also stainless steel but I wasn't completely convinced. It will be even cooler if I can inlay a semi precious stone I bought in Namibia for almost nothing. A Tourmaline I think. Orange color. In the eye socket

Decided on the Alien skull bead with the hole through the head. Going to glue a feather along the rest of the cord. The feather is symbolic of something for me. Just got to find the right one. The cord doesn't melt like nylon so I will have to find a termination clamp. To stop the skull bead falling off.
