Glad to hear you made it home safely.Fat Old Git wrote: Sun Feb 26, 2023 3:19 am Thanks for the concern fellas. Left Mangawhai on Wednesday so missed the flooding. Seemed to be the story of our trip. Missed the worst of it even during the middle of the cyclone.
Now back in Christchurch and have just had the joyous experience of turning my alarm back on for tomorrow morning. Grrrrrrr...
F**K off Gabrielle
Ah cool. I get this is really niche stuff in the grand scheme of things but it's funny what my brain latches on to - I definitely have taken that original report at face value if you hadn't added the missing detail and it was instructive to then dig a little deeper and start seeing where it falls apart!Jambanja wrote: Sun Feb 26, 2023 4:46 amSorry not stony silence, call it technical difficulties, I tried to post this smileyand I got error messages, tried several times and thought that because of the update there were issues
It was a good response
My job has started to morph into something where I get to question every assumption being made so it's good practice for me at least. Will be interesting to see what comes of all of this - is it something that gets any public traction in a farming-heavy country or is it all too Inside Baseball for the layman to know anything about it?

I reckon you'll arrive for the Pestilence Snooze. We're working through the list.

Wouldn't have liked to be swimming or surfing when that came down on the sea...JM2K6 wrote: Sun Feb 26, 2023 11:30 amChrist. Been there,
done that.

I'm back. I know you all missed me.
Got back to Vancouver yesterday after tiki touring Northland. Lots and lots of slip and flooding evidence but nothing that interrupted our journey's more than a few minutes. They are recovering and it will cost millions that they most likely don't have. And Hawkes Bay fruit and veg will cost a lot more in the near future. Wishing you all the best down there
Hope it all goes well for you Kiwi's (living there), and I'll be back next year.
