His experience of rolling blackouts isn't great.

He'll feel right at home on Durban beaches after living in the UK.

The $harks are in a weird position, given their last three games.

Our depth is poor, looking at our loss to Cardiff.

We can put out a good 1st team and get wins on the road, like we did this weekend.

We can't play our same team each weekend, so do we focus on the URC or Champions Cup?

It's not like we're dead and buried in URC, but I think a top 4 finish is unlikely. I'd like to see us rest our frontline forwards (Kolisi, Eben, Bong, Ox, Thomas) for Champions Cup. If we drop out of that then we try for a late surge in URC.

At least it looks like Bosch is coming back to his best form. I'm not sure what happened during his injury break, but it worked.

REPORT: BATH DEAL WITH TANK ALMOST SEALED
@rugby365com@RUGBY365COM
NEWS: Bath looks set to land the services of Springbok prop Thomas du Toit when his contract with the Sharks ends.

The 27-year-old Du Toit is very familiar with Bath boss Johann van Graan, who has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to persuade the big frontman to make Bath his next destination of choice.

Apparently Du Toit has also been in negotiations with Lyon but Van Graan looks set to seal the deal soon.

Strand school, HHHH gave the Piesang Boere their Sharks name.
KwaZulu-Natal’s Sharks got their logo from Hottentots-Holland High School.

In the mid-1990s, the school’s 1st XV was sponsored by Canon, which also sponsored Natal’s provincial team at the time. The school, which is situated between the towns of Somerset West and Strand, agreed to give the Natal Rugby Union its logo, which saw the team rebranded from the ‘Banana Boys’ to the ‘Sharks’.

Any chance Chilli can change this thread title to something more relevant to 2023?

Why Stormers? His family stayed happily in Cape Town like yourself. What is your reason for not staying in Derbin?

He did so much for $harks, Springbok and Zimbabwean rugby. I read his book and it was one of the most inspiring I've ever read, especially with him being from the same place in Zim as myself.

He was probably the first coach in SA to fully embrace the potential of the pro era. His Natal and Sharks teams were real class. Four-time Currie Cup winner as Coach. His Sharks team 1996-1999 was a real class outfit. He'll certainly be missed.

Looks like Hyron is Ebens replacement on the flight.

I also see we have secured a great talent at hooker for the Currie Cup. I think its another Cape boy

Eish. That's a serious drop in quality.

Eben was probably our most important player coming into this game. Our slim hopes of winning are effectively gone now.

Hope he will be back soon
Cameron will be on the bench

While Etzebeth's injury looks unlikely to be long-term, there is more concern over scrumhalf Jaden Hendrikse, who also injured his shoulder against Munster.

The Bok scrumhalf has gone under the knife and is ruled out for up to 10 weeks.

Fellow Springbok Grant Williams is expected to start in his place against Toulouse, with Cameron Wright providing cover off the bench.

U20 Champs

Not bad for a province that has Cameron Wright as a paid professional player.

Bit sad middle of the week

Saturdays of rugby, waterpolo or the beach in the morning followed by the Vodacom cup or u19 & u21s and the main games were great. Would have been better if they won more!

Director of rugby Neil Powell expects Springbok enforcer Eben Etzebeth to miss the remainder of the Sharks’ 2023 season as his shoulder injury is worse than first reported.

We'll see if all that rand and chicanery was worth while against Toulouse.

It would be a massive upset but both Leinster and Munster earned their spurs in Europe beating Toulouse in their backyard. Win in Toulouse, you can win anywhere.

Good move. I see the support coaching staff at the Sharks are already looking at other options. Sharks need a clean out and a new vision.

The more they change, the more they stay the same. Where is the vision to go with the money? Going back to Plumtree is not the move of a world champion team.
