Just found Yellowjackets and binged season one.
Really good without being too complicated when switching timelines.

Re-watching Cheers for the first time in 40 odd years. No wonder I was hooked on it back in the 80s... it's even better than I remember...

Just started on “The Recruit” Netflix.

Quite a fast paced start. Think it looks good.

Got half way through it and gave up. I find it hard to enjoy shows about conmen... even if based on a true story... plus I keep thinking of him in Happy Valley which spoils everything... :lolno:

Grogu running around in an exoskeleton bashing buttons that yell No and Yes whilst his exasperated father has to pay for the food the little devil is stealing might be the best thing I've seen this year.

That's weird. I started episode 1 last Monday. Its a bit stilted in the first series until it sharpens up. Probably ny age but I rathered Kirstie Alley and Woody to coach and Shirley
At the time in the 80s.. I was the same... but re-watching now, I'm enjoying Coach... that falling down the stairs to pull a woman was brilliant! I thought it would age badly... but no... I'm into Season 2 now. Could never get into Frasier or Seinfeld, but Cheers... love it. The humour comes more naturally and isn't forced like it is in those other two shows...

It was brilliant  My wife has started watching alongside my boy and I (he hadn't seen the earlier seasons, so we went through all of it together). She now regularly tells my boy to do something and finishes with "I have spoken." Only issue is, he now often replies with "No. No. No. No."

Struggling to see the hype around The Night Agent. It's just your run of the mill yank conspiracy theory bollocks.

Did it have hype? I watched it... it's ok... like a poor version of Slow Horses. Watchable but unmemorable...

Yeah, it’s not hyped, just any easy watch.

I am quite enjoying it. Doesn’t take itself too seriously. Likeable main character, and enough action and not hugely predictable.

7.5/10

Defo worth watching

Hyped to the extent of everyone I know who has watched it saying how tremendous it is, and similar noise on social media. I'm not saying it's rubbish but it's just following the same old formula with some pretty unimpressive acting performances.

Thought it was a very enjoyable, easy watch.

It's a decent enough story wrapped up with enough intrigue and plot twists, well enough acted. Yes you can probably figure out some of the twists and plot in advance but it's not too drawn out. Perfect Sunday evening fare or something to binge if you're stuck in bed sick.

Just watched the 1st one of the 2nd series and haven’t laughed so much in 40 minutes for a long time

Finally caught up on Picard. 1 season was 'meh'. The 2nd worse. The 3rd season is the godly re-union of 90s Trek any one who every watched it as a kid will love and I'm not even a Trekie.

My missus is watching the 3rd season now and from what I can tell it is a total nostalgia-fest that doesn't necessarily make sense.

The plot is very good and a pretty clever conspiracy story. It's not relying on Nonstalga, though it certainly benefits from continunity and past events and much of the newbies are very likable and integrated into the story.

Its basically Picard and Riker investigating a distress call from Crusher while another plot thread follows another known character, but it isn't revealled at first. Riker's dealing with the death of his kid and running away from his marriage. Picard is desperate to save an old flame in over their head. Eventually they call upon old friends as more and more of this conspiracy is uncovered and the revelations and their implications get more serious. It's not until the 8th or 9th episode any nostalgia-based scenes are actually present. and when it happens it's beautiful.

Never been able to get into TNG, and watching Picard basically just to get some VFM from my Prime account. It really has been like "Oh look a TNG crew member!", "Oh look another TNG crew member!", "Oh look another TNG crew member!"

Does seem to pick up a bit in mid-season though, last episode I watched was the one where
Spoiler
Show
they finally manage to get rid of the 'Shrike'
Funnily enough I quite enjoyed season 2 which most viewers seemed to dislike

My wife is a farmer's daughter, and we watched a few episodes of season one with farming friends. All of whom loved it.

One comment that sticks in my mind was vis-a-vis Kaleb. Which was that whilst he could be mocked for his narrow horizons and apparent lack of education, he and others like him across the farming world are daily operating a multitude of high value and very complex machines that would baffle most people. Yet they still get mocked as yokels, and talked down to by townies.

Farming is a tough business. You have to be really good at a diverse bunch of stuff to make it work. Much of this is non academic.

I have a load of farmers in my family. One a couple of farms over from Clarkson. The general sentiment has been that Clarkson's farm has done more for the public understanding of farming than 30 years of Countryfile.

As I have mentioned previously, The Cotswolds has a massive nimby problem with people moving there from the town and failing to grasp that people are actually trying to make a living off the land.

Yeah that's a shame, because he seems a very happy lad in his small world, much happier than the mockers I would imagine.

Foster's presence is normally a pretty good indicator that the film, series, spidose, whatever, will be good.

Yep, series 1 was excellent. I skipped 2 after all the shit reviews it got, and 3 was OK but still not a patch on 1.

Check out the US version to. The first couple of episodes may need to be pushed through a little, but it has some great storylines and differences. I prefer the UK version, but there are aspects of the US version I'd love to see them introduce in the UK one.

You could say the same about many servicemen and women. Often mocked for being less educated but often using and maintaining equipment that would baffle the shit out of most people.
