What's the main points?
Some people opposed to horse racing in principle due to the deaths. Some of whom misunderstand the way horses and ex racers are actually treated.

Others taking the view that sport has risk, some sports are riskier than others, this is a risky one for humans and riders.

General acceptance that the Grand National is too much about the spectacle and this should be changed for welfare reasons, e.g. fewer horses, so better quality, more space so fewer fallers etc, but risk can't be eliminated.
I’ve not been to the races many times, but I’ve always enjoyed flat meetings. Jumps not so much, if at all. Always seemed more of a lottery in terms of sport and potential to result in a dead horse.

Happy to see jump meets banned tbh.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

If I’m honest anything much over a mile is a bit boring. 1m/6f/5f is good fun. Probably what they should do in horse racing as the equivalent of T20 to glam it up - 6 races, all a mile or less, 10 jockeys, and you get a meet winner at the end of the night. Could do 10 trainers as well, maybe 8 meets in three months, grand champion at the end of it.

How about an onsite BBQ at the race meetings so the horse doesn't die in vain

A different issue here, but trending on Twitter under "Wankers". Maybe we need a catch-all Wankers thread...

Used to be a regular at the Windsor Summer Monday evening racing which was fucking great. My girlfriends dad hired out the boats on the Thames and knew all the local horse people, so a boat up to the races and into the members enclosure to see which girlfriend Vinny Jones brought that week whilst being in ad on TV about how much he loved his wife. Happy days.

You'll have to explain. I get the latin but the reference is nothing to do with that, right?
Balls, I possibly used the wrong word. Whatever the fetish is for seeing dead animals.
When the fetish becomes a profession, taxidermy.
