Tbf I'm only talking about Netflix. The others might be watching the alibi one. I didn't know there was 2 so I apologise if I've confused everyone
I meant the Netflix Keri Russell one.

Seven Kings Must Die. I know it's a film but it rounds of Tye Last Kingdom. Thought it was a decent way to round it off but I'm gutted it's all done, bar a new book with some short stories. Brunanburh was obviously where all the cash went and it paid off imo.

The wrong place to post this but just watched Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (1979) with Alec Guiness. What a show! Are there any any other mini-series from the same era?

Not from the same era perhaps, but in a similar vein and set in the 70s, I found The Game on Now TV, it's a Cold War thriller series with a great cast, Tom Hughes, Jonathan Aris, Victoria Hamilton, Shaun Dooley, Chole Pirrie, Brian Cox, Paul Ritter.

I'm a sucker for this sort of thing and it didn't disappoint. It was made in 2014 and I've no idea how I missed it at the time or why there was never a second series made.

I've binge-watched Blue Lights this week, I found it easy to like the characters and it was very tense in parts

I watched it when I was quite young and enjoyed it... not seen it since the 80s. Was one of the first big roles for Jeremy Irons... but Anthony Andrews stole the show...

Atlanta is the best anthology show I've watched in the past 10 years. There's a strong story arc and central characters throughout all four seasons, but many of the episodes can also be enjoyed as their own short story. And of course, there's the relentless sly humour. Fantastic show.

I think it's getting that positive discrimination of having strong female leads. However I can only guess they have seen more episodes than us as to call it 'thrilling' and 'era defining' is not what I have seen

Started Invasion again and have to say totally into it. Love the pace and mystery to it which I hear is what annoyed a few people.
See, I’m the opposite. I’d not heard of it, and watched it, and like it.

So I started from zero expectations

I generally avoid cop shows like the plague, because their inaccuracies are so bloody annoying, but I thought it was very good.

On the Spy theme, I'd highly recommend The Sandbaggers they made a few series, & it's lot more like LeCarre than Fleming, showing the gritty side.

1990 had the tag line, "Nineteen Eight Four plus Six"", & it has a brilliant cast, & like TTSS you can tell they pushed the boat out with the budget ....

Yep IIRC they filmed in parts of Leeds as a location for the grim parts of Eastern Bloc cities [ edit - i meant this with regard to The Sandbaggers, made by Yorkshire TV ]

The Swarm. Started out with such promise, went the way of The Abbys movie 1/2 way in and then was just shite. Annoyed me a lot.

So, I looked this up when you mentioned it and the best ad for it was 'it's only 5 episodes so you don't have long enough to get too mad at it'. I gave it a go as a result and I can both see why you enjoyed it and why it might have picked up poor ratings. It's essentially a long ad for climate change activists with a bit of drama thrown in. It's fine but it's still really preachy. Aimed at both 40+ year olds trying to guilt them into making more of an effort and younger folk trying to get them to become more active in the cause.

And look, the premise might actually be valid. History will tell!

Pretty skilled to make a show where every character is pretty repulsive and yet it remains humorous and you have 'favourites '. Tall dwarf favourites of course
I started late after rejecting it at first... watched it all now. It is indeed a skill to make a show compelling when all the main characters are so despicable. The sad thing is that it's entirely believable..

More important than Succession, Justified is coming back!

News that brings with it a mixture of joy and concern. It was a such a good show you can't help but worry that the revival won't be any good, may even be bad enough to tarnish what came before.

It's a toss up between him and Greg. The Roy children were brought up into an environment of complete, borderline pyschopathic dysfunction, those actively choose to be a part of it.
