Love how de Allende does a little skip, like he's going to something other than just crash it straight up.

Only options left...
1. Keep AB from BP. Very doable.
2. Try to get within 7. Not easy at all.

scoreline now a fairer reflection of the Bok overall performance.
Qwagga with the solo consolation try

In 80 minutes I only saw one mistake he made....C69 wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 8:55 am Fecking hell as a neutral I must say that the ref has ridden the Yarpies like a bull in a rodeo.
Astonishingly bad.
AB player knocked the ball on, bounced forward against Bok leg, Bok picks up ball and they start a counter attack on what should've been advantage Boks.
Ref called knock on by AB player, then knock on Bok player. Scrum Boks.
Not even worth mentioning really.
Otherwise the refereeing was great.
Happy with that from the ABs, in that it was a good team effort.
The key work on I think is learning to adjust the game to attack narrower rather than push the ball out through the backs when the opposition rush defence is working. The ABs almost lost that before they stopped giving up the ball way way behind the original gain line.
The ABs could take some lessons from the Boks on how to exit from the 22.

Yes. I liked the reffing too. The players know they can't get away with shite, don't talk back and just get on with the game which lets the ref get on with his.troglodiet wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:02 amIn 80 minutes I only saw one mistake he made....C69 wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 8:55 am Fecking hell as a neutral I must say that the ref has ridden the Yarpies like a bull in a rodeo.

That first 20 minutes was always going to be hard to come back from, ABs blew the Boks away.Sandstorm wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:00 am Played New Zealand. Great first 30 and last 15. Just too strong.
Reckon there's enough in that match to not be too down about it though.
I agree. We have the players, just need to find our best combinations and we’ll be great._Os_ wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:04 amThat first 20 minutes was always going to be hard to come back from, ABs blew the Boks away.Sandstorm wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:00 am Played New Zealand. Agree. Boks were shell shocked after that first 20 minutes. Any other team and it wouldn't have been the end of the world._Os_ wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:04 amThat first 20 minutes was always going to be hard to come back from, ABs blew the Boks away.Sandstorm wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:00 am Played New Zealand. Coming back from that against the ABs, you need one helluva effort and a lot of luck. And it would still be neat impossible.
Picking the right team is vital though. Hopefully we are not going back to the Heyneke days of persisting with players who are not good enough.
A bit of polish and focus which the lead up to the RWC will allow and I'm still favouring the Boks to go deep into the competition. Just too much depth in the squad and the ability to all play on the same page.

To come back from that start and very nearly take the win, against this AB side?Flockwitt wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:15 am A bit of polish and focus which the lead up to the RWC will allow and I'm still favouring the Boks to go deep into the competition. I think the Boks have more to take away here than the ABs... they have room for improvement in their team and their play. I'm not sure this AB team have the same.
Wouldn't disagree. The ABs have got to be quicker and smarter in their game decision making when the game dynamics change. If they start shovelling the ball back and then back again like they did in the 3rd quarter there teams like Ireland and France will just eat them alive.Guy Smiley wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:43 amTo come back from that start and very nearly take the win, against this AB side?Flockwitt wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:15 am A bit of polish and focus which the lead up to the RWC will allow and I'm still favouring the Boks to go deep into the competition. I think we try to have too many players moving in as the distributor. One in particular should fuck right off out of there.Flockwitt wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:46 amWouldn't disagree. The 10 and 15 roles worked well the last two tests. The coaches have clearly sorted this out. I'm not at all concerned with this going into the RWC relative to the problem it was. I prefer Jordan but we've got good options and if Foster sticks with BB at fullback it's not the end of the world. It's the other wing that needs firming up right now.Guy Smiley wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:49 amI think we try to have too many players moving in as the distributor. Rubbish Arg. No patience and so aimlessly kick away possession 5m out from tryline.
