Given the fiasco with the Commonwealth Games, I'm surprised they're going ahead with it. Can Australia afford this?

My least favourite Lions tour.
2001 was great tbf, but that was because Aus were in good shape.

This will be a comfortable 3-0. Ffs they even have to bring in some Kiwis for one of the tour games

If the rugby is as dull as last time it might be the end for me. If I want to be bored senseless and lose I can watch England.

To be fair it will take some effort to come even close to that tour. It's the worst rugby I've ever seen in my life, by both teams mind. Horrible off-field crap as well: covid, no crowds, coaches having a go at refs..

This will be much better, although I do fear the Wallabies are going to get the backsides handed to them in a very one-sided affair.

Yeah, there will be no Rassie for this tour. Hopefully they'll have given Eddie the boot by that time as well.

Make ROG Aussie coach, that’ll spice things up.

ROG would be a great Lions coach.

He's proven that he's decent at the whole coaching thing.

And there'd be no accusations of showing national favouritism as he'd not pick most of the Irish team in order just to spite Leinster supporters. Sure you'd get the likes of JOD and Rory Scannell getting test caps, but it would be worth it.

I agree, but I think he should be an assistant coach first

Farrell is widely tipped to be the coach, which makes sense. ROG wouldn't get the time off from the Top 14, which will still be running into the Lions schedule.

I think Rassie deserves a shot at coaching the Lions. I hope his name is in the mix.

Townsend will want it.

Whether he deserves it is a different conversation.

I guess this is a very obvious question, but the combined Au/NZ side is because Aus just don’t have enough bodies of the required quality to put out competitive Supe sides, test side and something like an ‘A’’ or president’s 15 or similar?

It's going to be the equivalent of a presidents / farmers-we-pulled-off-the-veldt-to-injure-you / dirty-bastards-from-the-NPC XV etc isn't it?
