It almost felt petulant, like he did it because he bought the dummy.

I actually thought there was a shoulder to head later on in that move - on the 10 or 9. Player was very low but thought they might have looked

Yeah, they are very disappointing so far.

Amazed at the number of Chileans in the crowd, very impressive

I think some people have been massively overhyping them and Tonga because of the 'stars' they've allegedly gained from other nations with the eligiblity changes.

Samoa are still a tier 2 nation that rarely do much of note against better teams, it's not too much of a surprise that they're struggling against another tier 2 nation, one that very much seems to be on the rise. Unlike, say, Namibia and the Africas qualification, Americas qualification is actually pretty tough now. The teams who come through it are no pushovers.

Some brain dead isolated option taking by Chile 9 in the last few minutes of 1st and start of second half, cost them tries

Commentators boring on about 'we must include [insert tier 2 team] more with the global game' :shh:

1. The Northern Hemsiphere do play tier 2 teams pretty regularly (or did before the new world league bullshit).
2. There aren't that many tier 1 nations to go around.
3. Playing higher ranked nations has a negligible impact on improvement (see Italy). It's all about the structures and size of professional player base.

It's also up to Samoa to put in effort get their own games, commentators particularly whining about "world rugby" need to do X. Like Georgia in the 2010s whining because things weren't being handed to them on a plate

Chile constantly putting 3/4 players in rucks when Samoa aren't even pretending to compete

Wtf...???

We'll up with a final in a months time, with 7 v 9

If you're going to penalise that clearout, then you have to enforce players at tackle ruck with head/shoulders lower than their hips too...

People who dont watch much rugby must wonder what the fuck is going on in this game, it’s all very, very silly. And also, all WR own making, what have they down to our game

A lot of cards in that game. Think the final score flatters Samoa a bit. Aside from a brief flurry immediately before and after half time, they spent a lot of that match not doing much.
