It wasn't the Welsh but Carley.
And Brace gave it a go tonight with 3 tries
- Aus try from a clear, illegal turnover at the breakdown
- Fiji try was robbed when he failed to play advantage
- Aus f**king up their own quick throw on their own line was their problem. Fiji not being set was irrelevant?
Could you imagine the Eddie conference if aus got knocked out in the group stage.

Mehhh: not sure you make up for 15-21 points.EnergiseR2 wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 5:45 pmHe made up for it unlike Carley. Gave Fiji a few marginal callsTorquemada 1420 wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 5:43 pmIt wasn't the Welsh but Carley.

Would have been priceless if Fiji denied Oz the bonus point but that would have made it harder to knock Wales out.

Yeah. Why can't we have him or Warburton on the game mic?

18 penalties! Obviously they were giving away a lot, but didn't realise the total got that high.
Absolutely insane that the Wobs didn't even get a warning, let alone a yellow, for repeated infringements.

That Nolli lady on the commentary was really decent. Really enjoyed her take on everything.
BTW are the English ever going to get over the fact Wales beat Fiji?
If Wales get out of the group, it is going to be the Jam Slam all over again.

Hard day for the Assies, their cricket team also lost the last ODI and series to the Proteas.
They're still world champions at aussie rules footie.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 6:05 pm Hard day for the Assies, their cricket team also lost the last ODI and series to the Proteas.

If Fiji manage BP wins against both Georgia and Portugal they are guaranteed a quarter-final slot except for a solitary scenario where:
- Australia v Wales match is a BP win for Australia with Wales collecting one BP; and
- Australia finish the pool with the best points difference; and
- Australia and Wales both collect BP wins v Portugal and Georgia respectively.
Essentially, FIji have qualification almost entirely in their own hands.

Fiji could've won by a lot more, left a lot of points on the park because of errors. They dominated basically everything other than the lineout.
Wallabies weren't in it really but played dumb rugby, binned some good positions with moronic offside penalties. Wallabies = stupid.
Wales should beat the Wallabies on what we've seen so far. Wallabies then pay for selecting rookies for a RWC by bombing out in the pool stage, having never fired a shot.

Awarding the first Australia try was a bit of mistake surely? Blatant playing on the ground by the Aussie tackler. Fiji the slightly less dumb of the two overall.

Great call in the FR Os. I should have stuck to my word of copying you_Os_ wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 6:20 pm Fiji could've won by a lot more, left a lot of points on the park because of errors. They dominated basically everything other than the lineout.

I have left a typically gracious message on the main thread.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 6:27 pm Great call in the FR Os. I should have stuck to my word of copying you![]()

Brace was little better. Just that Fiji picked a better team and Aus were exceptionally poor. But yes, were it not for Carley, either Aus or Wal were going home.
Oh yeah. And look, Fiji need to play smarter still. But it’s not like favouring the Tier 1 team by Carley is consequence free, is the point.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 7:13 pmBrace was little better. Sadly, it's been the story throughout. Just that Carley's was the most impactful effort.Lady P wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 7:16 pmOh yeah. And look, Fiji need to play smarter still. They’re not even that, actually… the world championship of Aussie rules isn’t contested by Australia as the other entrants are very amateur.boere wors wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 6:35 pmPCPhil wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 6:15 pmThey're still world champions at aussie rules footie.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 6:05 pm Hard day for the Assies, their cricket team also lost the last ODI and series to the Proteas.![]()
