That is really thick by Wales. Reset the ball BEFORE the line and it was a chance for game over. White line fever,
Yeah let's hope they get even better and still lose

Wheels suddenly came off Australia at the end there, ht has come at just the right point for them.
Rennie seemed to be building a tough side that were well set to be the ‘best of the rest’. Instead, this.

Nah nothing they could have done there. You hate LRZ.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sun Sep 24, 2023 7:48 pm That is really thick by Wales. Reset the ball BEFORE the line and it was a chance for game over. White line fever,

There was a load of cover coming across. He’d have gotten munched about 15 yards out.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sun Sep 24, 2023 7:48 pm That is really thick by Wales. Reset the ball BEFORE the line and it was a chance for game over. White line fever,

Revisiting this... Jones dumped Hooper and Cooper from the squad removing talent and experience. Names a rookie at 10 for the RWC, then drops him to the bench for the biggest pool game they have.Biffer wrote: Sun Sep 24, 2023 7:31 pm Don’t know who I want to win this. He's a charlatan, rugby's greatest. Ruining careers, destroying Oz rugby for a generation AND conducting interviews for a prospective contract in Japan while he's in Paris for this tournament. He's a stain on the game.

Rubbish. He's an exciting player in attack but like Penaud, is a terrible defender. Difference being LRZ is the proverbial turnstile.C69 wrote: Sun Sep 24, 2023 7:49 pmNah nothing they could have done there. And the fault there was with his support players trying to drive him over the line.
Yep, I fully expect him to spend a month post world cup waffling about how it's all about building for 2027, before bailing as soon as the dust settles.Guy Smiley wrote: Sun Sep 24, 2023 7:52 pmRevisiting this... I've kept saying this Wallabies side is shithouse since before the tournament even started. They've got fuck all. Jones did the genius move of not selecting Hooper their best forward who would walk into any RWC squad, and not selecting their best back Cooper who isn't quite on the same level as Hooper but still better than anyone picked. It was just dumb.
Wales are actually an okay side, they have a lot of experienced quality players, at the end of their careers sure but they don't give up or go away and know what they're doing. You would rather be at the RWC supporting a team like that than the Wallabies.
Wallabies getting beaten on smarts and heart. The Wallabies are a dumb team because they have no experience.
See no reason for anything changing in the second half.

I must admit I see no reason why you can't dive into the ball. It happens all the time when the ball goes loose.
Right call though, he wasn't behind the last feet of the defence, coming instead from the side.
Ref doesn't know what a straight lineout throw looks like. Both teams getting away with it though. Also noticed the one Ozzie lineout, hooker stood inside the field of play, wrong side of the line, when he took the lineout throw.

I love watching little children running and screaming, playing hide and seek in the playground.

At least he seems to be waiting before joining them this time. While on the RFU's dime he was off consulting in Japan. In addition to writing books, giving talks etc. Always seems to have more irons in the fire than a man being paid the amount he was ought to. For the rumoured £800k plus a permanent suite at Pennyhill Park per annum I'd want his undivided attention.Guy Smiley wrote: Sun Sep 24, 2023 7:52 pmRevisiting this... Someone elsewhere asked why not get some NRL talent, and I remembered that they paid a few mil for the kid who’s not arriving until end of next year? Another shrewd bit of (soon to be gone?) Eddie business that screws Aussie rugby?Guy Smiley wrote: Sun Sep 24, 2023 7:52 pmRevisiting this... Jones dumped Hooper and Cooper from the squad removing talent and experience. On the falling on the ball emerging from a ruck penalty: there was a law clarification just before the 2022 6Ns (at the RFU’s request) that the ball needs to go more than a meter from the breakdown before a player can fall on it. It’s related to Law 15.16: “Players must not: d) Fall over the ball as it is coming out of a ruck.”

Great turnover ball......... so hoof it

Wales by 15, but my picks have been a bit out this round, so toned it down to Wales by 12. Amazingly that was still almost the biggest Wales pick in the pool.

Yep. Pointed out in the Fiji game that if he was any further on the pitch, he'd have been in the car park.Simian wrote: Sun Sep 24, 2023 8:06 pm Porecki’s been taking the piss with the throw ins all tournament!
